Anyone got it? (None that I noticed in the Deck Collections thread.) I was gifted with the deck-and-book set recently, but haven't done more than leaf through the book and open the card box (not shuffle). I have three other decks that I like and want to study more - wasn't really looking to get any more decks for a while.
The computer-generated artwork seems almost too simplistic, and the cards are playing-card sized (but much flimsier). Still, I almost want to like the deck. Strength=11, Justice=8, for those of you who were wondering (though many of the majors have been renamed, those two included). No scanner, or I'd scan some, as it doesn't seem to figure in the annals either of AT or TarotGarden.

Hi littlehermit, there's two reviews of this deck on the Tarot Passages site. I'd provide links, but I don't seem to be able to access that site at the moment...
Much of this deck is based on the Brotherhood of Light deck by C.C. Zain, which you can see here:
http://www.astroamerica.com/t-brother.html
Of course Titania's deck has a much different art style. I found it intensely annoying that Titania doesn't credit Zain's influence on her deck but acts as if she made it all up herself.
I kind of like the art on the cards. But I find her system for the Minors (which show arrangements of pips) to be rather limiting.

Hi Lee,
yes, after posting I did some googling and found the Tarot Passages links, but I can't load them either. :(
I haven't yet figured out what I'm going to do with this set... probably re-gift it or trade it.

The review that LB did was excellent.
I have one 1982 reprint of the 1979 text of the Doris Chase Doanne book from a used bookstore...it's retitled "How to Read Tarot Cards" with Marseilles
cards on the cover. The Zain text and Brotherhood of Light cards are given credit in the preface What This Book Can Do for You.
I got it because the illustrations and reading text gave me insight on a different style of reading without having to invest in the Zain cards or their derivatives. The design scheme is attractive in black and white drawings but whenever I see the deck, the tiny illustrations seem lost in cards format.
The Doane book gives far more alternatives and suggested meanings for those interested in memorizing symbolism. The court attributions is heavily dependent on their version of astrology...
Thanks for the discussion points, because I spent some time looking at some of my other historical Etteilla, Egyptian style and Knapp-Hall to see if any of the patterns or ideas seemed to match...from my limited look, and guided by Lee's review, it was fun to see. I'm keeping my Doris Chase Doanne book as an interesting alternative reference.
Regards,
Cerulean
