Today I bought three more decks to add to my collection. Aquarian-which is nice, simple, muted gem-colours, and a deck I simply wanted to add to my collection. Gilded-lovely colours, wonderful illustrations, evenly done throughout the whole deck, have a three-dimensional look to them, and I got the book, and the little black bag, so a nice complete set. And...The Russian Tarot of St. Petersburg. I absolutely love this deck and am so glad I bought it! I have seen it a million times in stores and passed it by, but being Christian (Anglican, with dabblings in Orthodoxy) this deck really speaks to me. I can tell this will be one I will use quite often, and is the perfect deck for the Advent season, which begins on Sunday. The colours against the black just pop out and seem to glow in the dark, and though Russian in imagery, the illustrations are quite faithful to the RW. So, what is everyone else's latest deck(s)?

Hi HearthCricket,

Congratulations on your new decks! I hope you will enjoy them. Lately I have added the Gilded to my wishlist as well. At first I didn't like it so much, but I love the animals in it.
I have got three new decks as well. My sister gave me the Shapeshifter for my birthday and then I bought the Medieval Enchantment Nigel Jackson and the Robin Wood. So far, I love all of them!

Have fun playing with your decks!

After discussion here over the amusing card names like Cosmic Carrot in the Dakini Tantric Oracle, I had to get it. Just arrived yesterday, I've only looked through the deck once. And that is one BIG carrot!

Hi Darla
I am thinking about the Nigel Jackson, too! Are you loving it? Gilded is growing on me, each time I look at it. I hope to read from it, in a few days. I am presently reading through the book, so am anxious to see how good a reading I get from the cards and how the illustrations work for me.

I'm waiting on the good old Rider Waite - I've never had a good coloured version of this as I have the Original Rider Waite with the limited colours and very black outlining. I use this deck in study but I just don't like the colours so I have finally got round to ordering the standard deck and then I ordered the Large one just to make the set. lol :D

Edited to say:-

I have the Universal Waite and the Radiant Rider but its amazing how many little details have been lost in the redrawing of these decks so I want to go full circle and start an indepth study of the Rider Waite.

Hi HearthCricket,
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I do like the Nigel Jackson Tarot a lot. So far, I haven't had the time to spend a lot of time with the deck but the day I received it I did a series of small reading with it and they were all incredibly accurate. It is very traditional and Rider Waite based, however, the artist has a new take on some of the cards which I find very interesting and refreshing. I really like the colours of this deck and at first the artist's style took me a while to get used to. Sometimes the shape of the person's face appears to be weirs but somehow it makes this deck unique. I definitely expect great readings with it in the future. I also like the Robin Wood a lot and I feel this could be my new main reading deck. Although it is a bit early to tell yet. I'm really fond of Pagan philosophy so this makes the Robin Wood very attractive to me. However, I still love the Nigel Jackson. Unless I spend some more time with both of them I won't be able to say, which one I like better. In another thread I read that you are Christian. Nigel Jackson didn't remove the Christian symbology in his deck so that wil probably apppeal to you and you will find it better than the Robin Wood for you to work with.

I hope I could help you a bit and let me know when you have decided to get it.

Well, I am definitely looking into the Nigel Jackson and the Connely (sp?) decks. I just purchased the Golden Tarot, and wow! I am loving this deck, sooo much. But, oddly enough, I think I am even more fascinated with my Gilded, still. I feel like I have won the lottery. My three most favourites decks, so far, in my life, have just been purchased in the past 2 weeks. Gilded, Golden, and Russian Tarot of St. Petersburg. I am on a roll!

Oh another tarot-holic in the making... Congratulations on your new decks. I myself am biding my time until I can lay my hands on Forest Folklore.

Currently no other decks calling me, but you never know.. that could change at any time...hehe

My two newest are the Soprafino (which I've lusted after for some time now) and the New Palladini. I really seem to have connected to the New Palladini; the Soprafino will take some time (I need to learn more of the symbology behind it). Isn't collecting fun?!!

Yes, tarot collecting is very fun, and I must admit I am a fairly picky collector, but I keep finding decks that really seem to speak to me. I also picked up The Fairy Tarot, by Lo Scarabeo. I have about 10 Lo Scarabeo decks that I want! I just love their decks! Just when I think I am settled for a while, I find that I branch out into a whole new path and end up buying more and more! Seriously, I am so tempted to make a day trip into Salem, Ma, which is about 45 minutes away, and hit all the tarot stores, there. I could go insane with my wish-list just from hanging out on these board and discovering decks through conversations. Ah, if only I could win the lottery!

I have lately discovered Isha Lerner's Tarot of the Four Elements: Tribal Folklore, Earth Mythology, and Human Magic. I highly recommend the deck, which comes with a 198 page "LWB". THe art is primitive style, very well done by Artist Amy Ericksen. Can't recommend the deck highlyenough. The system used relies a lot on numerology and mythology. BB, Michael

Enjoy the beauty,
