On many occasions, I've noted that publishers very often get a bad rap on these forums. Accused of sacrificing quality, artistic intergrity, sometimes even for not publishing what we consider potentially wonderfull decks, all for that horrible word ...profit.
From my point of view I must be honest and say that the whole production process of the Gilded Tarot wasn't all roses, and we had a few differences of opinion on various issues. But I have to give them credit as well. Less than three months after the standard version of the Gilded was released, an additional print run was on the cards (excuse the pun). So obviously the deck was selling well enough that they could have just sat back, but instead they incurred the unecessary additional costs and effort sending people half way across the country to supervise the second print run to ensure that a number of details that we were unsatisfied with from the first could be rectified.
I just thought that deserved being pointed out.

You're right, businesses are about profit, but that doesn't have to exclude concern for quality. On this forum, Riccardo (associated with Lo Scarabeo) has impressed me as someone who genuinely cares about the decks LS produces, from their inception to the finished cards, and how they are received. I'm glad that your experience with your publisher was so positive, overall.

I'd agree with Astraea, that making a profit does not exclude concern for quality. It's good to hear of your experience - and by the way, congratulations on having another "run" of the cards - not that I'm surprised :-)
