Hello Wiccanlady39 -
I have the Witches Tarot but don't often use it these days. I use what I know of numbers and suits to help read, and the material, symbolism of the deck itself.
There is a companion book which is quite useful as well.
Good to hear that you like the deck.

Hello, I also have The Witches Tarot which I purchased a little over one year ago. This deck is very special to me because I felt an instant connection.
Not being too familiar with the Kabbalah, the meanings in the book that accompanies the deck didn't sit well with me. The Kabbalah seems like a very fascinating religion but my interest in this deck was more to do with its pagan/witchcraft depictions. So, long story short, I created my own book of definitions. Many definitions I use stem from a consistancy of meanings among several decks, however I have also included some personal insight.
I'm excited to see there are others who own this deck and I am very interested in sharing information with you.

I was disappointed in the Witches tarot. Some pix are GORGEOUS and some really suck (for example: the courts, stength and the fool).
SO if you have trouble reading with it, it may not be you. It may just be a deck that doesn't talk to you. Keep it for the art, and use a deck that works for reading.

It's been my experience that many people are disappointed with certain cards in The Witches Tarot, especially the court cards. Personally, I love them and wouldn't trade them for anything.
Something that may be of use to you with the court cards is this....because all the Kings, Queens, and Princes are looking straight ahead, consider which hand they are holding the emblem. For example, look at the King of Wands, particularly which hand is holding the wand. Now think of him as focusing his attention or energies in this direction of the card. Same holds true for the Queens. With the Prince and Princesses, their attention or energies are being directed to the opposite side of the card.
The only card I really didn't care for was the Six of Swords. But then I asked myself why. Was it the art or the message I didn't like? Perhaps a little bit of both. Other than that, I feel the cards are wonderfully designed and strikingly beautiful. But I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I love the concept of this deck, but the artwork never did it for me, so I traded it. Also, the Wands=Air thing never gelled with me. However, the companion books are well worth keeping on their own. There are 2 companion books, the one that comes packaged with the deck and The Witches Qabalah (or however she spells it). I recommend that you read both to get a fuller understanding of the deck. I think I would have been thoroughly confused had I started out with just the companion book for the deck.
I think the Witches Qabalah is out of print but you can probably find it rather easily on Amazon or Half.com.
