I can see why the banks have cooling-off periods on signing for a loan. And why they try to get you to waive them ;). Don't know if it's that I'm particularly fickle but I find that if I have to wait a looo-oo-oong time for a deck to come out, or if it's out of print and therefore unavailable most of the time, I can end up feeling a bit blah about it.
Like three months ago I would have sold my granny for a Greenwood, but somewhere along the way the fever abated and I just don't feel so fired-up about it now. Same goes for Forest Folklore - I waited and waited, and checked (Amazon, etc., completely obsessively), and now I'm not so sure I want it at all! This may have something to do with how much I like the Druidcraft - it's sort of filled the gap there.
But anyway, in general... has anyone else experienced this?

Hi bean ... I've experienced this often. That's why I generally try to hold off the purchase and wish-list the deck rather than buying it right away. It's not unusual for the initial deck-lust to dissipate over time. However, if I find that the feeling for a particular deck is very strong, I do sometimes give in quickly and buy it, so I can "move on". After all, it's not like I'm buying something with a substantial cost, like a car. :)

Yes yes! Bean Feasa, I know exactly what you are talking about!
I set myself to only purchase two to three decks a year. (though for some reason this rule never applies to Oracle decks!)
And I like to be very sure that when I have the money, and I am ready to buy that deck I have coveted, that I still really really want it...
The last time I bought decks on a whim, I purchased Crow's Magick and New Vision. Yuck on both. I was so disappointed, and I realized that I need to see a whole deck (or at least more than half a dozen cards) before I know it's a deck for me!

Yes, I also try to wait a while before buying a deck - only the decks I really want survive the waiting period. The problem is there are sometimes decks that I think will soon become unavailable or very expensive, so I feel I have to buy them when I can. I am now trying to overcome my fears for that, though, LOL. Most of the times it is just a rumour, often started at AT, when someone says "this deck may go out of print some day, don't you think ?" ;)
And hard to find decks...I start looking for it fanatically and then get tired of that, and then one shows up when I least expect it, and at a reasonable price too.
I agree about the Druid Craft - makes you forget about other decks.

I've done this exact thing with the Forest Folklore Tarot - wanted it for so long but now I've cancelled my pre-order with Tarot Garden. Like you say the Druidcraft has just filled the gap :)

I love the earthiness of the Druidcraft - somehow it made the Forest Folklore, or at least what could be seen of it on the scans look a bit 'sweet'.
Mind you my desire for the Stygian Darkness deck remains strong and lusty. And if ever the Tarot of the Crone came my way I would pawn a lot of possessions to be its owner ;)
