Arcus Arcanum Deck - Options

Synchronicity led me this morning to discover the Arcus Arcanum and I loved it the 1st moment I saw it, I love golden and silver age comic books so this deck comes natural for me :), sadly I discovered this deck is from the 80's and not so available in the US.

So, I'm here to ask if anyone know a similar style deck which is more available to buy. Thank you.

FantasyWorld  03 Dec 2004
This is a great deck.
Tarot passages has 4 reviews of it.

FYI

There is one of Ebay right now that ends in 4 hours.

It's going price is $12.95.

Thank you FantasyWorld, your answers are appreciated.

Thanks... I've just seen the "Tarot Occult Magic RARE Hermetic Art", I suppose you need a good sales argument to sell at Ebay.

FantasyWorld  03 Dec 2004
LoL, I guess.

People go to school to learn how to sell on Ebay:)

Here is a deck with similar "Prince Valiant" style art: Tarot of the Templars,
Jean-Louis Victor and Willy Vassaux. (Saw it on Tarot Passages.)

Happy hunting!

Thank you for the link! I loved the Papesse (High Priestess) giving birth, what a lovely sick idea!

A couple things...

When you're looking for the Arcus Arcanum you should know it was printed in English and German, make sure you know which you're purchasing. Also, it's definitely available on eBay. I bought mine a while back for about $10 I think.

If you love golden & silver age comic art you should definitely check out the Fradella deck which gives me great readings and has gotten consistently excellent reviews. Here's one:

And Aeclectic has images of it here:

There's another comic-style deck I wanna recommend, but I can't think of it right now... Lemme dig.

Thank you for the suggestion, is the 1st time I see this deck (yet another one for the wish list :D) I've realized comic books world has a lot to offer on Tarot deck designs and image, on the other hands many comic books would benefit from the symbolism and depth found in Tarot decks. This smells like a happy marriage under the right conditions don't you think?

Thanks to Rusty Neon and Scion to bring to my attention the language subject, I hope to get a deck with english titles, if not I'll allow the images to speak by themselves, as a last resource I'll check any Lo Scarabeo deck with multiple languages card titles for help. :)

Another tarot with comic-book art to check out is Lo Scarabeo's Secret Tarot.

Besides this, LS also has a number of other tarot decks by other Italian comic-book artists.

Right! like the Avalon Tarot (Drawn by Joseph Viglioglia) which have "dynamic" drawing and comic book body "anatomy".
