So after looking for a new deck to use - my Marseilles is already worn and fragile, and there's no specific stores that carries this king of things, so finding a Tarot deck is much of a lucky strike in this city -, a lucky strike did happen and I stumbled upon a RWS deck and an Egyptian one. I bought both. I felt a little giddy, knowing that now I just started my own Tarot collection :)
Anyways. I'm familiar with the RWS, after reading about it online. But the egyptian one (which now I know is the Egipcios Kier deck) really knocked my socks off. The first thing I noticed was that every card had, besides it's name, a number, a planet symbol, a hebrew letter, and symbols at the top which I still don't quite figure out. Then I see the diferences from Marseilles... instead of Le Diable, we have The Passion. Instead of Le Monde, The Resurrection. Instead of La Maison Dieu, The Fragility (or Frailty). And just when I think that I can adapt to this new new symbolism, I discover that, unlike most decks, this one is not divided on Major and Minor cards... no, each of the 78 cards has a different picture, their name, and their symbols/letters. That's when I started wondering what I had gotten into...
So, is anyone here familiar with this particular deck? And if so, do you have any tips to start getting used to it? I've been thinking that perhaps I should put this one aside and come back to it only when I feel strong on astrology, kabalah and egyptian symbology. You know, I sort of feel this deck is too much for a silly begginer like me.
