When you get this deck you'll find that it really is as beautiful as it looks on the web and a whole lot more! It's my ultimate favourite deck.
Have a scan through the threads and you'll find a huge amount of postings to do with the Gilded Tarot and its sister deck, The Tarot of Dreams, which is due to be published in March.
In the meantime, enjoy your cards!!

The deck has a wonderful feel about it. I found an instant connection to it. It has a magical feel that makes it exciting to use in readings.--Tao

I just purchased them from another source. I paid a little more than I wanted to. If I get the others, I will give them away as a gilf.
I am looking forward to using them.

AAARRRGGHHHH!!!!
I REALLY have to get this deck!!! But guess what, according to the store where I ordered it they have no idea how long it will take before the deck is available again!
I had to cancel the order and now I'm walking on hot coals because I haven't been able to reach a friend who said she might sell it to me!!
The agony. Haven't I seen this before? Why oh why do I keep on collecting... *sigh*

I actually am receiving this set from my significant other. In fact, I dare say that I am extraordinarily picky when looking at decks...but I have yet to find a deck that I connected with as much as this one. (I think it is largely part of the reason I felt myself drawn back to the tarot after I left it a few years ago.) Hopefully you'll get your deck before I get mine! (My other half is forcing me to wait until Imbolc. *sniffle*)

That's cruel!
Tell me about it. I fumed at him. Granted, it was more because I told him not to spend money on me. *grumbles* = P Now, though, I'm stuck waiting (not an easy task for an Aries.) Maybe I'll talk him into giving it to me early... hehehe...

I ordered mine before Christmas, and just got word today that my account has been refunded. I really liked the personal touch of that, too. After my trying to get in touch with them repeatedly over the past week and a half, they just refund my account with no explanation. This was from magickal treasures, so I won't shop there again.
Surely they will reprint soon, as it's such a popular deck. Won't they? Aaargh! I go through these periods of being "good" and not ordering decks, and this is the result. She who hesitates...

Yes they will, in fact they have reprinted. While everyone was caught by suprize by how quickly the first run was sold, Llewellyn quicky moved to print more. Apparently the delay was caused by waiting for the black bags to arrive in the country so that the contents of deck, book and bag could packaged. I understand shipping will commence again with a few days....fingers crossed. Thats the latest as far as I know.

Llewellyn just sent me a letter saying they don't know when this deck will be in stock and they have not charged my account and have cancelled my order.
I did get the cards from another source but had to pay more money for them. I hope that the cards do come with the book, becasue I bought them as new and they did get the highest ratings on the site that I bought them from. I will let you know when I get them, which should be by monday.

Not only are they beautiful, but there's an animated CD that will be available. So in computer readings, the card may change from reading to reading. Very interesting idea. Though I don't think my computer will ever replace the feel of cards in my hands.

I just got the Gilded Deck today. And what happened? I went to a Borders and it was there on a shelf. It was an obviously a return. Was tempted to get it too, but didn't.
I will post later my first thoughts.

Well... after my unsuccessful attempt at obtaining the Bruegel earlier today, I wandered along to Waterstones to see if they had the Gilded Tarot. Unfortunately, they did not. :(
But... they directed me to another branch that did, and 30 minutes and half-way across London later I had the Gilded in my hands.
Anyway... just opened it all up, and it looks well tasty indeed! :D
Lovely bag, great cards, and an interesting little book by Barbara Moore.
I is well pleased!

My friend actually help me bought my gilded tarot from an overseas bookstore last december.. This is my first deck and i really love the design and the colours. Even Death don't look scary :D
I keep wonder whether this deck may be too difficult for a novice like me? Should i have gotten other deck like the Rider Waite's instead? 'Cause most of the guides online refer to RW's.
But i really love this first deck of mine... :) No regret of course

Bluepixie,
I think if the deck appeals to you, and you are happy with that, then you have nothing to worry about. I think that it is all a matter of personal taste. :D
The images in the Gilded are all very much in line with images used in the Rider-Waite, so the two are similar in more ways than one.

Ya it's true how they are still similar, but i am having a little problem guessing what those cute little animals symbolise. Another thing is some cards are a little different from RW's like the Chariot from RW's appear to be a man but Gilded's is a women. I am quite clueless on how to modify the meaning...

Maybe you should treat yourself and buy yourself the Rider-Waite too? Hehehe. :D
I would recommend the Universal-Waite!

Did you get the book with the Gilded? The one by Barbara Moore? I haven't read it as of yet, so cannot comment on how good it is or if it explains any of the symbols used. I would think so though.

Nooooo... you are just being inquisitive! :D
Not sure what to suggest. Perhaps you should check out some Rider-Waite companion books in your local bookstore; maybe these would be able to help you out in some way?

I've been searching fruitlessly for months for the Gilded deck with book. Does anyone know where I can order it from in Europe? Alternatively, I'll be back in the US this summer for a while, and can order it then, but I'm a bit worried about whether it will be in stock. I don't want to miss the train on this one! And besides, I want it in my greedy little hands before June! :)
Edited to say that Amazon.co.uk appears to only have the deck, not a set, unless it's like the Golden in that the deck IS the set. I admit to being a bit confused. Alida doesn't carry it at all (and why is THAT? Hmph.).

Hi Stregaverde, the Gilded is only published as a set. So, unless you're looking at a used copy which might be just the deck, you can be assured a new copy from Amazon will be the set.

If it doesn't rain it pours. What comes in the mail today?? You got it another Gilded Tarot. LLewellyn sent the ordered that they cancelled. Go figured, yes of course the money did come out of my account.
So if anyone wants to buy them-- they are up for sale, PM me if you are interested.
