I'm not overly fond of the close-up imagery concept of this deck, yet this deck has some of the most visually-attractive tarot cards.
Particularly striking, in my view, are:
2 of Swords
Judgement
Hermit
Hanged Man
8 of Cups

One of my top 10 decks Rusty!
I find all the Aces stunning
The Queens especially the Queen of Swords.
The Star and the Moon are colored in a way that you can really feel that it is night.
Especially on the Star card.
It has a stillness to it like at dusk.
The Six of Swords you feel like you are in the boat, part of the experience.
The Ten of Cups I love the way their arms are entwined.
The Nine of Coins because it is so purple! :D
Doesn't it just feel rich and luxurious.
The 4 of Wands almost puts you inside of the bower of flowers.
Wonderful unique deck.
I even like the Devil.

Yeah, excellent Devil - very dark and to the point . I agree with the purplicious 9 of Pentacles too. The Tower is really dramatic . I also like the Lovers card, but Pollux always thought they were fat .

The Five of Pentacles is heartbreaking and beautiful. A testament to the power of love in the face of suffering - humanity at its best.

The Morgan Greer is my favourite deck...I think I might be buying a backup deck...my favourite card is the two of cups...the two people in the card are looking in each others eyes ever so lovingly and deep...

The Morgan-Greer was my very 1st deck, oh these many years ago, when the class I was taking was using RWS. I had not developed an appreciation for the RWS, so I chose the M-G. A wonderful deck, which attracted me because of its lack of borders.
My favorite cards:
9 of Pentacles (I think this my all-time favorite card from any deck)
The Magician
The High Priestess
The 4 of Swords
The 3 of Cups
The Lovers
The Tower (I like the angle of the card, looking up toward the top of the Tower)

My favorites are:
8 of cups
6 of swords
Queen of swords
The Hermit
The Moon

Great thread Rusty,
I love
Judgement

Moon and
2 Swords.
The two of swords could be my favourite. When you look at it you can see the light on the water, it is so real!

The Morgan Greer my favourite deck
I think the colour of this deck makes the cards visually attractive - bold colours but without being vibrant or garish, no frames and not writing to distract on the Minors - except for the Aces.
Favourite cards include:-
Strength
All the Aces
The Star
The Empress
The Emperor
The High Priestess
All the Queens but especially the Sword Queen
The Moon
The Sun
7 Swords
3 Cups
4 Swords
Its hard to pick out because I like the whole deck. :)

It's so difficult to choose, but the Moon and the Five of Swords stand out for me - mainly because the colours are so rich and atmospheric.

Hearing all that passion about your Morgan Greer packs, I rushed off to get it out of my collection and recall,(other than obsession) why I added it to my collection. I felt renewed in my wish for all cards to be border free and maybe not have numbers on them as well. My favourite card is 9 Pentacles. She just about has it all.Secondly the Wheel of Fortune. I think the Queen is glad the hapless fallen has not grabbed her dress! 8 Cups 5 Swords for their atmosphere and Ace of Cups for all the perfect correspondences. Thank you for nudging me to revisit my deck.Ps Shame on me, I do not read with this deck! Rgards Rosanne

I love my Morgan Greer deck -- it is one of my favorite reading decks. I love it for the same reasons most have given, the deep, rich colors, the closeups, and the lack of borders.
I love all the Queens except the Queen of Cups. The Queen of Swords is especially wonderful. I love the three women in the three of cups, so individual, so beautiful and thoughtful and welcoming. I love the plenitude of the 9 Pentacles. I agree that Aces are fantastic.
The 4 of Cups is a great card also. I love the fiture being covered in ivy on a hillside -- the retreat into the forest or countryside. Great image.
I also particularly like the 5 Pentacles -- such a compassionate card, but also one that has come up in readings as a co-dependent or enabler situation. Very powerful imagery.
I love the Page of Cups also, and the Death card. That curved scythe, the white rose that echoes the white skull framed in purple - the red background with shadowed castles. It's just a perfect death card -- invitable, yet fair in some weird way -- death comes to us all. The purity of the rose, offering sleep, not passion. Or a surfeit of passion.
Glad to know so many others love this deck. I have had strong accurate readings with this deck -- it seems to me a fearless deck, strong, like the Queens. It is not gentle, but neither is it mean.

I don't know how old exactly my version of the Morgan Greer is...but it is a pre-US Games, and has my favorite kind of box...the kind where the lid comes off...
All the cards in this deck are striking to me!
But my favorites include...
The Fool...so detailed and so wistful!
The 4 of cups...the fae like figure hiding in the ivy
The 8 of cups...the red cloaked figure...and the great sense of balance and journey
The Hanged Man...who always reminded me of a US Civil War soldier
The Tower...brilliant use of color, and angle
The 10 of Pentacles...with the banners...one of my favorites in any deck!
Judgement...full of beauty and compassion and energy
The 3 of Pentacles...amazing card of strength of design.
And all the Knights....they have such distinct personalities!
Occasionally someone here will remind me just how much I adore this deck!

I love the word purplicious :)
Every card in this deck invites you into it. You feel as if you are in the room or close by the characters
There are many beautiful images. Some not "beautiful" but striking are the 9 Swords ( a unique take) and 3 Swords (there is actually blood on one of the swords).

This is my favorite reading deck ...this and the Hadar TdM.
In Morgan-Greer...my favorites are:
The Hermit...most favorite!
The Empress...with the moon under her left foot and the eagle/shield in her right hand with the lotus? flower in her left....love it.
Also,
The Wheel of Fortune with the King and Queen celebrating at the top, the hand grinding the wheel..coming in from the left and the figure falling OUT of the card on the right.
Also, Death...very alchemical card to me with the blackness overall and then the large white rose in the lower right foreground.
I have a reading to do Friday for someone coming to my house. Going to offer choice between M-G and my Hadar.
I'll bet she picks the M-G!

Bill Greer once told me that Morgan skimped on the color process and that they should have been deeper and more pure than what you see. He has sometimes waxed sentimental about getting the deck reissued with a color correction (he still owns most of the original artworks) , but Bill Greer is a very ellusive and enigmatic man and sometimes does not want to talk about the past at all ...

I love the "darkness" in the colors...but who knows....would be nice to have BOTH!

Ooh, this is getting my all fired up again to shake the dust off this deck, poor thing has been very much neglected in the past year or so. I'd decided I need more symbology to get a deeper RWS understanding and bought the Radiant Waite.
My Favorite cards:
Lovers
5 Pentacles
9 Pentacles
2 Cups
Knight Swords...he just looks like he feels so justified for that Tower burning
All the Queens
10 Cups
9 Swords...it's such a different visual for the DM
Strength
Star
Page of Rods...I just love the way he looks at his rod like it just did something he never knew was possible, surprized, amazed and baffled

The imagery of the 10 of Swords and the 5 of Cups simply need no explanation. . . and I love borderless cards. This is my most well used deck. . .
