Hey All!
I've just created new tarot deck. It took me 5 minutes. It is perfect, the best deck ever. There is Nothing to argue about. I am putting it in public domain. It's copyright free. Please use and distribute it freely.
Name of the deck : Tarot of No Limits.
Description: get 78 index cards, leave them blank, please no names or pictures, leave this to your intuition and imagination. That's it. Ready to use.
How to use: shuffle as long as feels good, pull as many cards as needed for the spread. Let your intuition and imagination fly! No Limits! Just remember these are tarot cards, not index.
There are only 2 author's restrictions: make sure you use 78 cards, and they can be only white or you can paint them black if you prefer.
enjoy

But which is better, white or black cards? Or could I do blue ones?
Can I round the corners? Or do I have to leave them squared?
Which version of this deck is better?

hmmm, good questions
it looks like during the 5 minutes of deck creation I missed important details
preference of black and white is cultural, but you can contact me for special permission if want too use another color
round or square corners? ah, okay, no limits, after all - giving my authors permission to use any shape described in sacred geometry
well, to make a deck is more complicated, than I thought

These things like paper are imprisoning the images, making them jailbirds stuck to one color and form and shape and line, nasty visual things that suggest reality.
So I cut off all the white space, snippety-snip.
No, to keep them public domain, I will only describe them through oral keywords that change; that way I can keep the intuitive aspect alive and let them be, as 'free as the moment from you were born' (to paraphrase King Arthur, 2004 DVD version).
I'm not selling them in a glass jar or recycled plastic on an auction site next week. They are free to you all. Look for Transparent Tarot in major air pockets next week.
Regards,
Cerulean

Cerulean beat me to the jokes (grumble, grumble, grumble...)
I've been using jumptothemoonyea's deck, and it just isn't speaking to me. I'm offering it as a trade on the trading forum, along with a 500 blank pieces of paper to be used as the accompaning book.
PM me and I'll send you my wishlist :) (It's extensive, and nothing is cheap) ;)

Look for Transparent Tarot in major air pockets next week.
Most major airlines make you wear your seatbelt in case of air pockets. Must I wear my seatbelt to use this deck?
(Installation on various chairs will add significant cost to this deck--may hurt its popularity.)

Which version of this deck is better?
as popularity of the Tarot of No Limits grows every second, we feel necessary to have an Open Discussion: "Beating around the bush", to decide which is better: black or white, square or round, paper or paperless.
everyone is invited, as long as you are in good health and older than 3 years old
:)

I realize, my humble apologies, that 'free to all' should be that; 'free to all'.
Just in my humble offering, we have popped the air pockets and have released the erstwhile 78 to the ether; discussion is not limited and you are free to round your corners and become as square as 'the day you were born,' to misquote King Arthur, DVD version, 2004.
We (Gemini twins speak from both sides of their mouths) hope the transparency is not an issue and the nonvisual stimuli promotes the feeling of airyness that some people are sensitive about, appealing to the intuitives and analytical alike.
For those who like the electronic version, we beg indulgence, as we are opting for a wireless version with unrestricted access.
Best wishes,
Cerulean

I pasted the transparent version to my windshield, then smashed that into a 78 perfect crystalline pieces. So now I have my own Crystalline Transparent Tarot, no corners, three dimensional, read it any way you want it.

here's my question, Do the cards have to be a certain size? I tend to prefer the small index cards, but I could deal with the large ones.... ;)
|
| jumptothemoonyea |

ah, the size... another important detail
I forgot to mention, that as long as the golden ratio of 1.618033988749894848204586834365638117720309180... is strictly observed, there in No Limit to size of the cards!

Clearly jumptothemoonyea , your new deck will be celebrated as the work of artistic and innovative genius that it is. It says so much, yet makes such economical use of space . Cutting away the extraneous baggage of tarot tradition, you have given us the meat of the tarot experience, serving up a banquet of immediately accessable imagery destined to become an instant classic that will last for all time and circumvent the parameters of confined thought.
Though you think it will not be argued over, I beg to differ. It is human nature to insert complexity into simplicity , to see what is sometimes plainly not there, and to corrupt what is unpleasing to the self . And therein lies the true genius of it all ! Only a person in touch with the unseen internal archetypes could have produced such a sophisticated work of revolutionary significance.
You confront us, you mock us , you invite us to experience the true self .
I suggest a starting price of 10,000.00 for the signed original prototype that inspired a new generation.

I find the 78 card requirement very limiting.

...ho-hum, mere mortal limits!
...the price and number of the deck card is infinity times the mysterious zero of the Cosmic Fool and of course, as geniuses have suggested here, 78 is too limiting.
So from the brilliance of JumpToTheMoon's five minutes of Satori to the immortal Buzz Lightyear, it is to Infinity and Beyond....
Best regards,
...Cerulean, scattering Transparent Tarots as she sputters away...

Congratulations jumptothemoonyea! You have finally developed the ultimate deck - and it has achieved what none before has been able to do - It has confounded the cynics: Those who have always dismissed the Tarot as mere random selection, as unscientific mumbo-jumbo, for the experiment cannot be controlled, repeated. I have put this deck to use and discovered that no matter how many times I test it with a similar request - IT GIVES EXACTLY THE SAME ANSWER! Let them pooh-pooh that!
It is of course, early days - I will begin experimentation next, introducing a major extension, as to date I have not allowed for reversals.

I assembled your deck, and I must bring to your attention a mistake in your Little blank book. You said it only takes five minutes. It took three minutes. Please notify The Emperors new Clothes Press as this is False advertising. Also I tried using a mirror after I had drawn my daily card and although I looked the same the card was Blank.

I have used this deck for three hours now and it is truely remarkable. The pips have indescribable swirls and never repeating patterns in white. I just drool when I see all the suits laid out in unfathomable lines of sameness. It has such fullness, that I can see an undenialable link to that ancient manuscript hidden by the French, before the reformation. It is said that that script was never found, but we have based much on it. Thank you Jumptothemoon for combining such esoteric richness with new age freshness. I treasure the deck. Regards Rosanne

Of these aforementioned "Index Cards" there can be no possibility ever
of accepting the despicable Le Véritables Fiches (True Index Cards),
which are in reality only really a real set of indexes from a Photo Index,
not a photo-reproduction, (photographic reproduction), reproduced by
photographing a production in order to produce a photo-reproduction.
This restriction only seems fair, and isn't my opinion, or a personal view,
but unless there is an acceptable standard agreed upon in a standardly
acceptable manner there would not be standards that were acceptable.
Photo-reproducers even if already deceased or the descendants of those
photo-reproducers, including living or possibly deceased relatives related
to anyone involved with or knowing a photo-reproducer yet un-deceased,
and future relatives, even if they could not care less, should be reindexed.

dear jump,
i believe i have improved your design, if you will only approve the change, first get a blank piece of paper, (users option), and a pen (also an option), then write down the first card that pops into your head (also an option), then continue untill the correct number of cards have been chosen (also an option), at this point interpert (you guessed it an option), what you have or have not written. card meanings are also an option. this way only the reader knows what the pictures (right again, an option), really are. then if someone wants to complain about, anything you have done, you are free to lie, and say you did what they would have done. so no more arguments, (can you believe this is also an option).

I must say, this is one of the few decks where I don't get the urge to trim the borders, as they form such a wonderful synthesis with the (non-)image.
Also the back of the cards fits wonderfully with everything else.

I find the 78 card requirement very limiting. In the mind-boggling, impossible to grasp magnitude of the Idea behind the Tarot of No Limits, the unexplainable author's restriction of 78 is chosen as an Anchor to the realm of traditional tarot. However, if community feels to be strong enough not to get lost in the Infinity, special edition of Tarot of Absolutely No Limits can be released.
Thank you for all the additions and suggestions, fast turning Tarot of No Limits into the Deck of the Century

Thinking about this thread.
Contemplating structure.
Tarot has structure.
Soul Cards, Dreaming in Color…no structure…not even 78 cards.
Remember “The Gift”? The heroine did not use Tarot…
Some of us use playing cards (52 or 53).
Lack of structure can indeed help us find an inner-freedom.
But then it all depends on why you read (tarot) (for others)?
From a spiritual viewpoint, structure may stand in the way. Especially if a imposed dogma becomes mandated (‘you must read this deck this way’).
But still…a 5x7 deck…
Think about the Drogi at 13.5cm X 8cm, or the Vargo Gothic at 12.7 x 7.62, or Hoi Polloi at 11.4 x 7, or IIT @ 11.8 x 7. All superb reading decks. You don’t like the art? Is it about us? Is it about you? Is it about the sitter?
Then there’s the Grimaud at 12 x 6.3…not even close – dogma required.
Index cards? LOL same as Vargo Gothic…12.7 X 7.62.
Sweet N’ Low packets come in at 6.2 X 3.6…
Cool huh.
Nope this thread is not funny.
This thread is right on.
