I finally got my hands on the Tarot of the III Millennium. After much and much search, this is the closest as I could get to the "perfect" tarot for me. Since there are many other places where you can go to get descriptions of the deck, I wont go into that here... unless you want me to.
I spent the first night setting the minor arcana cards out in an attempt to create the "big picture". Those familiar with the deck know what I'm talking about. It's amazing because since all the minor arcana cards fit together like a puzzle sort of, it adds new dimension and meaning to the cards and in readings. It's quite amazing how accurate the cards can be concidering how untraditional the images are. Of course, as I read somewhere else, it's not the cards that tell the future, it's the person. The cards are only a tool to help guide you on the right path.
So it's like I'm still learning tarot... of course I think you're always still learning tarot... and I get one of the most unusual and supposedly hardest decks to read, yet I have great success, so I thought that was amusing. Unusual cards for an unusual person I guess.
Does anyone else have the Tarot of the III Millennium? Just wondering how it works for you. I'd like to know of your experiences with the deck... or whatever

I got this deck a few months ago but haven't done much with it yet (see "back burner" thread). This is not one of those decks I can pick up and read right away. I didn't even know there was a "big picture" in the minors before I got it. I was flipping throught the deck the night it arrived and noticed that a couple of cards looked alike. Then a couple more looked alike and I cleared off the table and had at it.
I haven't delved into the minors yet except for putting the puzzle together, but I have to say this is one of my favorite Major Arcana I usually like The Star in any deck but I especcially dig this one.
I think this deck needs more study time than I have to give it right now, but when I am ready I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
Peace,
April

Funny...Mine just came in the mail today and I have been sitting here reading internet reveiws on it and deciding whether or not I want to open it or sell it...I was drawn to it and so will probably open it. I read TarotGardens interview about this deck and he says it is not for beginners so i wonder how easy it will be for me to read as i am still learning but not quite a beginner.

well, the big picture thing I didn't understand before I had gotten my deck. I had known that each card in the minor arcana was part of a bigger picture; I just didn't realize that they were all part of the same bigger picture.

Bullhonky! I don't believe in beginner decks. Not that some decks aren't more challenging than others, like this one, but there's nothing wrong with a beginner being challenged sometimes. Besides, you said you're not really a beginner, so I say open it. We're all still learning and will never stop.
By the by, I wouldn't be opposed to participating in a study group with this deck if anyone else is interested. I just wouldn't know where to begin.
Peace,
April

Yeah! I win! :D I hope you enjoy it.
Yes, it's just the minors and I'm pretty sure court cards are included in that. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember some blank spaces after all the cards were in place. Or maybe I'm just bad at puzzles. I think I'll try to put it together again this weekend.
Peace,
April

I love this deck...it fascinates me, repulses me, seduces me, and grabs a hold of my sub-conscious like no other deck I have ever owned.
There is something raw and powerful in its images.
The Majors are etherial and beautiful...different interpretations in the images , then what I am used to...but they make so much sense to me...
And the minors are restless, and provocative, with hints of violence and beauty hiding in the puzzle...
and the Courts fling their personalities at me in ways I have not encountered before.
I have said before that this deck makes me feel like a CSI detective looking at a crime scene. There is so much happening, so many clues,so many things that are merely hinted at...so much to digest and then try to put together using knowledge and logic, and intuition.
I almost forget that this is a tarot deck...it speaks to me in ways that tarot does not. I have been treating it like an oracle...and I have found that it can be used with so many systems of reading that it is truly unique...
and a bit disturbing. That might be another reason why I like it!

Okay, I'm having a hard time putting this puzzle together!!!
I got the courts together, mostly, except for the Knight of Swords. I got some of the minor together. Some overlap.
I'm curious to how one would actually do a reading with this deck w/o having the puzzle together in front of them.
This is an interesting deck to work with although it gave me a headache trying to put the minors together:D

yes, I had trouble putting everything together too. There are some holes in the picture, and actually, I think the little pamphlet thing said that there would be, and to meditate on the empty spots or something. I'll have to re-read that. I forgot who said about a study group or something, but yea, I'd be open to that. I have no idea how to start it though.

Okay, I'll start a Tarot of the III Millennium study group. Let me know if you'd like to be in on it.
