Too late for Voyager

Thread originally posted on the Aeclectic Tarot Forum on 05 Jan 2005, and now archived in the Forum Library.

April  05 Jan 2005
I just called US Games in hopes of finding a replacement card for my Voyager deck and they tell me it's out of print. When did this happen and why wasn't I informed? Was this recently? That'll teach me to wait so long.

I guess I thought it was a popular deck (although I don't really care for it) and it would be in print forever. I just wanted to let those who were in the dark like me know. If you always wanted one grab it while you can still find it.

I'm off to collage The Sun now and try to pass it off as authentic. Just kidding! If I'm to lazy to call the publisher then I'm certainly not going to make my own. :)

Peace,
April

MM ~ Hmmm, you can call a publisher and they'll send you a replacement card if the deck is in print? I thought about calling Lo Scarabeo, my Minchiate Etruria came without an Ace of Swords! But I don't speak Italian so I just printed an Ace of Swords off the 'net and glued it on that extra card with the list of other available decks...I know others have needed replacements for one reason or another - what kind of luck have you had? Probably your best bet would be to surf EBay for a cheap deck before they realize that it is OOP.

It's amazing how decks sometimes suddenly go out of print. Maybe this deck is being reprinted as we speak?

The Amazon.com site shows it as in-stock with 24-hr availability.

It's well known to be OOP...at least at AT.
But it's not hard to find used or new, esp. on eBay.

Stella, Lo Scarabeo decks are distributed in the US by Llwelleyn. Maybe if you called them they could replace your Ace of Swords?

I emailed the author when mine came with two Devil cards and one other one missing....he sent me the right card in the mail that same day!!!!

MM ~ Two Devil cards! That would have scared the wits out of some people I know! BB, Stella

You think that'sbad...I had 4 death cards in my Wheel Of Change deck!

April...I hope you can get a replacement card for your Voyager...it is a deck that comes up a lot on the trading forum!

QUOTE]MM ~ And lived to tell the tale! Sorry, couldn't resist saying that. Skepticism can be a wonderful thing. I was getting junk mails a few years back from that "Miss Cleo" outfit, complete with Death and Devil cards, and a Wheel of Fortune that looked like a device from the Inquisition. The idea was to scare people into calling. I never called, but I still have those cards someplace - they'd be nice collaged on a wood box and varnished ~ kind of a "keep out of this box" thing.
