Hi everyone,
I would like to buy a visconti deck but I've read that the 2000 publication included a few cards that were printed upside down. I also read that the publisher was planning to republish with a correct deck.
Anyway, I can't seem to find if that has happened. The amazon reviews don't indicate that the deck has been revised.
Anyone has an idea on this?
thanks

How can they be upside-down? There are no words on the Visconti. Sounds like someone was having a joke.

But a closer reading of this review makes me say, it's not the A Bon Droyt or other emblem in the minors--Mark Filipas writes:
It should be noted that three of the pip cards in this deck were printed upside down, relative to their outside borders: the Ace, 2 and 4 of Wands. At the time these mistakes were noticed, the production process was too far underway to warrant the expense of corrections.

I've said in the past that some the mottos were upside down, but I'm mistaken. It is the three pip cards above that were printed with numbers.
In the review above you will note there is another pip card with a written emblem. The faded mottos coming from the people in the Wheel card are not shown in the Visconti Gold majors.
Felicity Kunitz shows the different versions of Tower and Devil from various Visconti decks; the Visconti Gold deck in the Lo Scarabeo book and deck kit printed in 2002 look fine to me and have the new devil and tower.

large historical facsimile?
There's even a mini-78 Visconti Gold deck supposedly coming up later this year.
