Hi All,
I've just seen pics of Conway's Intuitive tarot, and can't find an extensive review or information. Has anyone got it? Any info on the deck would be appreciated, especially basic info (concordances, size, backs, quality etc). I have seen a couple mentions of a feminist slant also. I'm curious about that too.

Fulgour, you remain an intruiging person. :) Thanks for the link, I had checked out the site. I was hoping there was something a little less designed to sell the deck.
I'm not sure it would suit my meager collection, but am curious none the less.

Let's say, a friend of mine bought this deck, and she
had trouble connecting with it. So much so, she put
some of the cards back in the box to better evaluate
the ones that she wanted to view while undistracted.

The back of the cards are coloured a dark purple,
with a twin-ringed oval frame alone in the centre,
which the book says reflects the artist's discovery
of the divine feminine. The cards are 3" by 4 1/4"
and there are 78 of them. On the top and bottom
of the back of each card, we find this message:

I like this deck very much.
It does have gentle power that speaks to me.
You might want to be prepare to connect to
higher energies. :)
Mine has even been christened with a coffee stain.
I had a lot of fun with it with the dolphin divination
deck one day.
The progression from Judgement to World was particularly
meaningful for me.
The people are like inhabitants from some other planet
we've been invited to peek into.
I love it.

I have this deck and find it quite remarkable. As SD says, it is like an invitation into another world. The Thoth-like features make it easy to use, but it has a dream-like atmpshere which encourages contemplation and associations.

Thanks all, that was interesting. Fulgour if your ever in Aus. I hope you stop by for a chat.
Would it be fair to describe the deck as Thoth-like (from an art perspective) with a focus on "intuitive" graphics, rather than detailed "occult" symbolism?

There's an article about this in (I think) the feb addition of 'Prediciton'. If you can't get hold of a copy then pm me and mail it to you.

I have this deck and agree with the comment it is somewhat 'Thoth' like. The Book that comes with it has a good further reading List including the Gerd Ziegler book 'Tarot, Mirror of the soul'. The artist has done course in creative arts therapy and dream analysis. Each card has an oval which contains the picture and various colours that frame it. I have not used the cards for readings but have used them for visulisation practice. The dream like artwork is very conducive for this. I like the slightly alien look to the figures. The way the art is constructed you get a strong sense of looking down a tunnel at the image, and that helps me focus. I don't get a sense of strong feminist view, more a sexual Jungian aspect. The cards are 3inches X 4 1/4 inches are thick cardstock with matt finish. I think the medium used is oil pastel. I am pleased I have it. I have not visualised on The Emperor as his amulet is a little too potent for me( LOL) Regards Rosanne

I got the Intuitive set several months ago. My first impression was that the chinese tarot printers have come a long way very fast, in terms of colour, overall quality, and especially cardstock. I haven't used the deck much yet, but I like it and it's growing even more on me! The matte finish and off-white blank areas are very appealing. The ovoid framing of each image is engaging. And there is something that attracts me about all the purple; card backs, book cover, set box, etc.
The actual images are amongst the most riveting 78 I've seen or have.
I don't experience the deck as being overly "feminine" or "feminist".
I'm glad to have it in my collection.

Thanks Shining_Moon, I found the article.

LOL. I actualy thought the same thing I saw scans of the Thoth Emperor. I reality he is holding a perfectly innocent orb, but I thought it looked more like two orbs and their friend! ;)
Thank you for your comments all, I am finding this deck quite attractive I think.

although this review below says "Thothlike" and the reviewer liked to meditate on the images:

I'm not certain if the Emporer is intentionally funny, but it was to me.
Definitely a different artistic take.
