hi
i am going to Honduras for a couple of weeks in July (yes i know its not for a while) and i am looking for a new deck to take with me when I go.
It would be good if it came in a "mini" version, because I have a limited amount of weight and space, and I will be walking around rainforests and staying in tents, then scuba diving for a week.
I was wondering if anyone could suggest something. I dont particularly like the Marseilles style decks, but I was hoping to find something that would possibly relate to where I am going and what I am doing.
I am hoping to find something quite soon, so that I can get to know it before I go.
thanks, always,
~lady~

Hi LadyofDreams,
The Lo Scarabeo mini's are very good quality - I was just posting in one of the other threads about the card stock being the same as the standard LS decks but the boxes are not so good quality so for travel you'd need a bag or wrap the deck in a tarot cloth. But they have a big range of decks available in the mignon size now.
Really it depends on what style you are after - the Hanson Roberts is a small deck about the same size as a pack of playing cards, the Spiral is another small deck, the pocket Rider Waite or the pocket Thoth - the Quest is a small deck - saying all that I don't know of any decks that would relate to where you are going - maybe the Ls Tarot of Mermaids - a RWS clone and also done in a mignon size as well as standard?

Here are the AT suggested decks from Central and South America:

They look interesting. The Mexican Tarot is amazing.
You could also go for a Spanish deck - el Gran Tarot Esoterico is very interesting and the Crystal Tarot was made by a Spaniard and is breathtaking.
Or there might be some interesting nature-based tarots that feature the rainforest.
Enjoy picking the One!
