Anyone recognizes backs of cards?

Maybe Gwynne or someone else wants to help me with another thing? So the back of the Rider-Waite deck has that light blue colour going on, but what's up with my deck? I am SO sure it's the "original", and not the Radiant or Universal and so on, but the backs look like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v143/trueslave/410f38e0.jpg Is it because it's the Swedish edition? I think there were different backs on the Rider Waite over time. I have a Dutch Rider Waite deck and the backs are off-white with a very small ankh in the centre. Yours look much nicer.

There are several editions of the Rider Waite, each with a different back. Here's a link to a website that shows some of them: http://home.comcast.net/~vilex/Cardbacks.html I don't see your cardback on there, but there are a lot of Rider Waites out there. The line drawings are technically free of copyright, which means anyone can color them in and print them and call them a new version.

Thanks for that link Gwynne I knew I had seen it before but did not have the link. I see there is a Dutch back too with an ankh, but with the ankh upside down ! :eek: I think this must have been a misprint, my Dutch deck has the ankh right side up (the rest looks the same)

Wow, the backs of your cards are lovely. One of the things I really dislike about the RWS deck is the blue plaid backs. Is this Swedish edition with the nice backs still available? Where do I get one? Love Sulis xx

They are very nice backs! They remind me a little of the Thoth. I also like the box - looks like it would stay 'unbattered' and protect the cards longer than the shabby old one that mine are in, lol. LB

Where do I get one? Love Sulis xx Hmmm oh my, I only buy my decks in this little shop (Stengården) in my city. =/ Maybe you can find it on Amazon or Ebay? The 'names' on the cards are in Swedish though, and the font isn't as nice as the English ones unfortunately. But yeah, the backs are lovely! And I love that it's pocket sized, fits my hands perfectly. LittleBuddha: Yeah, the box is really good! :D It's really hard, almost like a little wooden box hehe.
