There's an Ukiyo-e Tarot with classical Japanese characters, quite beautiful and, unlike the Chinese Tarot, designed to be read with RWS meanings. I believe it's now out-of-print so find one quick! No Vietnamese ones that I know of but there's a Thai one, the Royal Thai Tarot, that's also RWS-friendly and just recently published. I've forgotten the name of the other Thai (or is it Cambodian?) deck but someone else will probably recall it. You should be able to find scans of all at Tarot Garden.

oooooooooo I bet Ukiyo-e Tarot is going to be on my wish list...checking Amazon with fingers cross..thank you for the suggestions...Thai is close to Vietnamese though that would be interesting if someone did come out with that...wish I could write and read Vietnamese and I would just get my oil pastels and design one myself.

Amazon prices are always exorbitant but they do tell you how valuable this deck is about to become. If you can't get the Ukiyo-e in a trade here you can still find it occasionally on eBay for $10 -$30.

Bladeraven, the Ukiyoe Tarot is currently on sale on Amazon.co.uk for £12.99 (this is about 30 dollars). Even with the shipping added on, it's cheaper than the one you mentioned.
hope you enjoy it :)

Hi bladeraven,
Yep...you can order from the UK Amazon site even if you live in the U.S. I've done it before. The only thing is that airmail shipping can easily run about $25-30, and surface shipping can take about 2 months (that's how long it took the last time I ordered a book from the U.K. and didn't pay for airmail).
Should you decide to try waiting and buying the Ukiyo-e deck from eBay, take heart...I see this deck come up about 2-3 times per month, and the prices are pretty reasonable. I bought my copy from eBay about a month ago, and paid $15 plus a couple of dollars for media mail shipping.
Cheers,
Annabelle4

Tarotgardnen.com or Sasugabooks.com show many available to U.S. buyers. Two 78 card decks, although unillustrated pips:
Passion Tarot/Moon Princess Himiko...thirty-three dollars at sasugabooks.com
Yoshi Amano (he has illustrated several RPG and Dream Hunters Graphic Novel)...Amano Tarot...also available at sasugabooks.com
Many others available at tarotgarden.com if you do the advanced search, put in the country of origin as Japan, China, Korea or Vietnam.
I do not know of a Vietnamese tarot yet, although there are upcoming artists with the Asian last names and I cannot tell the country of origin from their name alone...sometimes I can if the name seems common in Chinese or Korean, and I usually can tell Japanese last names.
Best regards,
Cerulean

How cool..thank you! I was telling another that if I knew Vietnamese (I'm half vietnamese) I would just design my own deck with oil pastels...
