Gilded Tarot Borders

I really like a lot of the artwork in this deck, and I'm usually not drawn to computer art decks at all. The biggest drawback to digital art decks seems to be those chunky (and tacky) borders. Does the Gilded actually have gilded edges, or is it a digital fascimilie of gold texture? And if it isn't actually gilded (I can't for all certainty in scans) then does it take away from the art?
