Gilded Tarot Deck ;0

After 18 yrs. with my Rider Waite deck..I thought it was time to add a 2nd deck..so after looking at the ATF tarot card section.. I saw this fantasy like deck similar to the Rider but definitely.. eye-popping & engaging. The creator Ciro Marcheletti (sp??) will be having a new deck similar in style called Tarot of Dreams in the next few months..but wanted to have this deck to get started on. Anyone have experience with the Gilded tarot?? Do share ;0 with blessings.... "A"

This is the most popular deck of the year. You will find many disscussions on it here in the ATF. Just do a search for Gilded. TOD is due to come out in a few more weeks. There is a thread here on it also so search for it. Welcome to the ATF Cat

I bought one this last Friday, actually. So far, I utterly adore it. I connect with it more than I did with my Waite-Rider, the images are beautiful, and it's simular enough to the WR as to be easy to adjust to.

I love the artistry on The Gilded Tarot, but am struggling with The Fool (he looks exactly like George W. Bush) and a few of the other cards that seem to really resemble well known celebrities. It may not be so, but that deck will now be the George W. deck to me for ever more! Argghhh! Kathy DV

Kathy that is really Ciro himself and not GB. Do a search on Gilded and you will find the posts that Ciro mentions who is on the cards.

I bought the Gilded Tarot last week. I'm not 100% certain if the artwork is exactly to my taste but I've done some good readings with it so I think I am connecting to it.

Hiya Everyone I am having an absolute nightmare getting hold of The Gilded Tarot. I've being trying to get it every single day for the last month. I did read Tesco's was selling it, but after phoning every Tesco in the North East, not one of them have it left in stock. I've tried every Tarot card selling shop in the area and they not heard of it. I've tried trading here on Aeclectic, still no luck. No luck with getting it at E-bay So I have ordered it from Amazon, but they don't expect to get one shipped out to me, till the middle of MAY. Araghhhh! Please someone, anyone out there, please tell me where you got your deck from. Does this deck come with a book, what's the book like if it does, and I read that it comes with a bag too, is that right? Love a very desperate Angel_fire x

It comes in a boxed set with a book and a pretty mesh bag. I think that is the only way it is sold (others can correct me), no single decks. Sorry, it has been so long that I forget the source of mine, but am pretty sure I have never seen it in a store around here. I like the deck a lot. Of course I enjoy fantasy imagery, and if you do not, you might not enjoy the deck as much. As noted, it was voted the top deck on the anual ATF poll this year. um, the middle of May is only three weeks away. :) Blessings.

Angel_fire - I got my Gilded Tarot in Borders in Inverness while I was staying with my mother doing research for my MPhil. It does come with a book and a nice mesh/organza bag. It's a nice set.

I am so glad to hear that, as I LOVE the deck and the artwork is just stunning! I am the same in that ever since I saw "Bruce Almighty" and I think God, Morgan Freeman's face pops into my mind! Angel_fire, I got my deck from ebay. I just checked and there are 6 on there now. Good luck in finding one, it is my favorite deck.

Hiya Sulis Thanks you for pointing me back to Amazon. I did order them from Amazon a few days ago, but they told me, they would not be dispatched till the middle of May. I absolutely love the Gilded Tarot deck! I am very happy to have it in my collection. It's easier for me to read compared to my RW deck.
