Need help identifing a deck

Here's some pics, they're not the greatest, but there the best I can get:

They're possibly from the early 1900s or prior. They're numbered (i.e. 1-7 and 11-13), 40 cards, but possibly missing some?
One of the Number One Cards says, Non Val Saper Chi Ha, Fortuna Contra, Modiano S.P.A. Trieste. 2 Inch Wide x 3 & 3/4 Tall. Seem to have a Wax Finish. Backs are Dark Green and Black Checkerd Like Pattern.
I know I've seen similar, but not this exact set. Tristine comes close, but this set is darker, older.

MM ~ I don't think they're Tarot, they look like Tarock, but I couldn't tell you offhand which deck. Try googling "Tarock". BB, Stella
