Scans of the major arcana are up. I'm curious to see what the minor arcana will look like.
http://www.rosicrucian-tarot.com/major_arcana.htm
The only thing for sale at the moment are individual prints of major arcana cards.
According to the site, it's expected that sometime in 2006 a complete deck will be available. Not clear if this means a deck of cards, or just prints.

looks quite nice. Not sure about some of the less 'animated' cards but overall it looks promising.

Thanks for the link Rusty :) Do these images also
remind you of the primitive work of a young Wang?

The art's not to my taste, but hey. Not everyone likes the same things.
It doesn't seem to have much to do with actual Rosicrucianism. :P

It looks ghastly! The pictures looks like some of those really (really) tacky religious cards you can get (you know the type with the shifting image of St Anthony and dayglo colours?). I can't see the link to Rosicrucianism, unless it be a few random symbols planted here and there.

Okay, I promised myself that I would say nothing on this thread, but I have to at least mention that I did a total double-take (and shudder) when I read that The Star is supposed to be Florence Farr (what, naked in front of a palm tree?) What next? Oswald Wirth as a beefy he-man in tight leather jeans?
Have to say I am boggled (bewildered and bothered too) by the link between this deck and Rosicrucianism.
Florence with the palm tree:

Florence without the palm tree:

Edited to add - but it did give a hearty laugh too when I saw that card.

I'd have picked foxy Moina Mathers for The Star and Florence for The World card. Maybe it's because I'm also a Cancer with a twelfth house Sun. Victorian actresses were never that skinny, though.

I shall be the tongue of dissent }) and confess... That I have fallen in love with this deck! It is far more aesthetically pleasing than, for instance, the very similar Golden Dawn Magical Tarot by the Ciceros, and it would make an interesting comparison deck to Wang's Golden Dawn.
I am also loving how the artist has painted some of the more influential figures into the cards... And can see MacGregor Mathers fitting perfectly in the Magician as well!
Personally, I know very little about Roscrucianism, but am still looking forward to this deck being released, because even without any reference to Rosicrucianism it looks to be quite lovely.
And dig that wonderful Hanged Man card! I love it! :D

Mathers was much more the Hierophant of the GD. The closest match they ever had to The Magician was Crowley, who scared most of them to death })

Fyrefly, I disagree (in a good-natured way - because what I'm about to see is based in humour!), mainly because of the stories I've heard about good ole' Mathers.
Bit of a tricky one, wasn't he? Apparantly one day he claimed to the group that he would enter a room and the spirits would give him a Tarot deck which they had created... He walks in the room, and sure enough returns with a Tarot deck. Which was obviously created ages before hand and kept in the room.
Although having said that, Crowley was very mischevious too... I recall a story about a Haggis hunt in Boleskine... })
I can't help but feel that Crowley could be a Tarot deck all of his own, which is why I have difficulty seeing him only as the Magician...
Blessings,
Kiama

i'm not real jacked up about the art on the deck but hey, to each his own -- what i really like is the cool close-up scrolling thingy they do on the website when you click to look at individual cards -- that's pretty cool :)

um if you read the web page..this is a set of prints I thought...not a tarot deck....
I must say the Star card image made me laugh...its porn!!! since when has the image of the star got anything to do with a woman pouring water over her erect nipples???? lol......
the hanged man is also awful....
the image of the hanged man is reminiscant of the 3 fold death of the Celts....(WB YAtes a strong helper in the so called Celtic revival...DID help design the rider waite cards...though am sure you you know that???)...the hanged dude is also in the shape of an alchemical symbol......for mercury or vitriol...I forget which.....mercury I thik...I'm weak on alchemical symbols...lol
The nly thing that makes this Rosicrucian are the Egyptian flavours to the images...these are more Golden Dawn rather than Rosicrucian though heh....though I guess the rose cross lamen does appear in the secret symbols of the rosicrucians.....(as featured on the magician...and in Golden Dawn stuff)
a goat a day helps keep the witch doctor at bay....
