Has anyone seen this deck??? I just got mine today and it's beautiful. And I wanted to share. :-)
http://www.dreamincolortarot.com/images/index.html
Techically it is not a Tarotor an oracle deck. They call it a luman deck; a combination of the Latin words for Light ("Lumen") and Angel ("Angelus").
I find it gorgeous and I think it would be a great way to explore feelings.
Has anyone ever seen another Lumen deck, are there others out there?

Hi Bar,
Yes I got it a couple of weeks ago. I'm trying to meditate with the cards at the moment and so far so good, especially since I've never really been able to meditate properly before.
I think they're fantastic too, the artwork just blows me away :)

Hey, nice to see you again. :-)
I am about to start some Tarot shadow work to explore my hidden feelings... and the reasons for them....I think this deck will be great to help me with that. It seems like a great deck to explore feelings with.
I heard that a lot of the card images are "fractals", which made me run off and do some research on what fractals are. I found it quite interesting actually. :-)
I'm really happy for you that the medititations are going well. I once took a course in meditation years ago, so I think that helped me. I have a lot of meditation tapes too. I had this typed in a different post, but I thought you might like it too....
Here is the Tarot meditation I usually use. Although it works better with a card with characters in it. It's not too hard, really.:-) Although it works better with a deck with characters in it, I thought you might like it too.
This is the meditation I use (taken from my book Complete Illustrated Guide to Tarot, by Rachel Pollack). It’s great for getting to know a card better and/or for developing qualities in yourself. Like if I felt I needed to have more courage, I would meditate on the Strength card. By the way where it says "pause" or "brief pause" those are instructions for it you are tape recording the exercise... Please excuse any typos I make,
Here is the meditation.
Meditation allows us to engage the pictures on the cards in a very direct way. There are many forms of meditation. We will look at a “program” that will allow you to enter and explore any card. We begin with relaxation. A relaxed state allows you to step outside the usual movement of your life. Choose a place where you can sit comfortably so that you will have to shift around, but try to sit with your back straight (personally I tend to lie down). Place the card you want to explore close by so you can easily pick it up. Since you do not want to stop and consult the book, or even have to remind yourself what comes next, you might want to make a tape of the following directions. Speak softly without rush.
When you have found a comfortable position close your eyes. Feel that you are coming to a rest, still. Let thoughts and plans and problems begin to slide away from you. Begin to breath deeply and easily. Allow the breath to go right the way down to the center of your body. As you take a breath out, release it entirely, in the confidence that your next breath will be there for you when you are ready for it (Brief pause).
As you breathe in, breathe in a deep calm all through your body. Let it radiate through you. And as you breathe out, let the breath carry away any distractions or worries.
And as you breathe in, let your breath bring you the light of the stars. Let it fill you, shine in you. You are a creature of light. And when you breathe out, send the light down into the Earth. Send it through the floor, the dirt, the rock, deep into the Earth. With each breath you become a link between the stars and the Earth (Pause)
Now, with your eyes closed, and staying with your breath, reach out for the card. Hold it in both hands and feel its energy. Quietly open your eyes and look at it. See it for the first time. Absorb all the details, colours and characteristics. When you have seen it fully, close your eyes again and visualize the card in front of you (Brief pause)
Open your eyes and look again. What details did you miss? What small form or gesture did you leave out? Now close your eyes again and set down the card. Once more see it in front of you, Let the picture become bigger, the size of a book, then a window. And bigger still, until it becomes like a doorway. A doorway to a living world.
Motionless, with your eyes closed, imagine yourself standing before the doorway. Now step through it. Now you find yourself inside that world.
Let yourself look around. The world has grown beyond the picture. Feel the ground, the breezes, smell the air, hear any noises of birds, people or wind (Brief pause).
As you look around, you see the characters from the original picture. They are active now, and you watch them move and speak (Pause)
Now you find yourself drawn to them. You approach them and one figure, a person, or animal, or object draws you still closer. You feel a special bond with this figure, this ally. Allow yourself to explore than (Pause).
And now this powerful figure asks you to come very close. You approach the figure and the being offers you a precious gift. Allow yourself to discover this gift and accept it. (Puase). Now your give your ally a gift in return (Brief pause).
Your recognize that the time has come to leave. You say goodbye to your ally and let yourself step back. As you move away the scene becomes the way it was before you entered it. You look and see the doorway behind you. You step back through it, so that the scene once more lies on the other side. And not the doorway begins to shrink—the size of a window, a large book, a card. Now the picture you have created dissolves before you.
Sit quietly for a moment, then take a deep breath, and when you let it out, open your eyes. Write or draw in your journal what you have experienced
Hope some of this helps,:-)

I have a feeling I will love this deck! And that you will one day too. :-)
I love everything about it so far. It does look like a great way to explore feelings.
I love that it is not a Tarot or an Oracle deck, according to the web site. That is is a Luman deck, coming from the words for "light" and "angel".
The box they come in is so much nicer than what you usually see. I love on the box how it says "Sweet purple dreams to you". :-) As purple is the colour of healing.
The colours are stunning! I have just been reading up on them so far on their web site. I copied the 20 page user guide there. I am trying to wait to tomorrow to open them. Nothing like having something enjoyable to anticipate. :-)

I feel blessed too. :-)
I loved it since I first saw it. I am one of those intuitive readers who pays more attention to the symbolism that to book meanings. The images just seem to speak to me. I think it will be great to help me understand certain feelings, as most of the topics of the cards are about that. And our moods are so affected by colours. And the colours are soooo beautiful.:-) And the colours are even brighter on the actual cards than on the web site.
The more I read about the deck the more I love it.:-)

Yes it seems like a very emotionally orientated deck. Just looking at the artwork can give you the meaning of the card :).

Yep I seem to be going down the intuitive route as well and am using this to work with the hidden issues/shadow work. I find these cards are actually quite gentle in a way as well, and the colours especially just draw you in.
Thanks for the tips on meditation, I haven't tried it that way before, but I have done some grounding in a similar fashion :)

WOW, you have 5 times as many posts as me and you started a month later. :-) I can understand loving this place though. I sure do too.
I know we are all on our own path, but the intuitive way seems to work best for me and give me the most accurate answers, as to me it is all about connecting to our inner/universal wisdom and I find connecting to my unconscious a great way to do that....
The funny thing about this deck, the first time I saw it, I thought the images looks so simple. Maybe too simple, cause I like a lot of symbolism to anaylise. :-)
But I find I can see so much symbolism in each now. Like the anger card, which looks like the simplest one in the deck. It is just a red flower in the image, nothing more. It looks simple but it says so much...quite eloquent really.
Like the color red for anger. Red is a "hot" colour like fire. And anger can definitely burn like a fire. The way the petals are pressed so tightly together makes me think of that tight feeling you can get in your stomack...And the shadows between the petals, are like the parts that stem from unconscious sources....And the very fact that the flower encompasses the whole background...like when you are angry it is hard to see anything else.
That being said, I am pretty easygoing and really rarely get angry. LOL I can't remember the last time. But I just wanted to say how much info is packed in such deceptively simple-looking pictures. I find it amazing how much depth there can be in an image like that. Anyone else see that?
Bar
PS, You're very welcome, happy to do anything I can to help.:-) While you are there with the character in the meditation, you can ask them any questions you have. I always do that and have gotten some very useful answers.
PPS. I will start my shadow work in 2-3 weeks. The book I have is "Tarot Shadow Work--using the dark symbols to heal, but Chrisine Jette. Do you have that one? I have already read it through. It looks quite good.

LOL Anger is the very first card I started with and have had to revisit it several times since, not nice spec since it feels like it is swallowing me whole *shivers*.
Yes I'm an AT addict, who would have guessed a few short months ago :D

I find it amazing how different people see different things in image. I love that. This deck really is like an inkblot test. :-) Maybe not swallowing you, just drawing you it so you can examine the inner meanings and defuse whatever bothers you about it. :-) I am sure you must be meant to do that.
You can always leave the image whenever you are ready. A flower doesn't close up and become a bud again, once it has bloomed it is open. Maybe the tightness is like a hug from your inner self that want to help you understand....
I have my own problems with anger. I never feel it. I can get very hurt, but almost never angry. I think I swallow it or something, I do tend to get too nervous though, probably from not processing my feelings properly. LOL

Hi guys,
I have the Lumen deck, it is gorgeous. There are at least two threads about it in the Oracle section since the DIC is not a traditional tarot deck.
The longer thread, to which Mindy Sommers contributed lots of time, is this one: http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=30731&highlight=dreaming+color
Mindy is a very kind and extremely friendly person. I am always very happy to see a dynamic independant creator gaining large (deserved) success.
:-)
My two cents...

Thanks Kissa,
will definitely check it out.
Want to hear something funny? After all the talk about the Anger card just now...I finally opened my deck to look it over and use it today. Two cards were stuck together. The one behind was the Anger card... A tiny bit of the card's ink came off when I pulled them apart, which I easily fixed with a touch of black marker. But the point is it was one of those Tarot moments where Tarot improves your intuition.
Here I was this morning talking on and on about the Anger card, then I opened the deck and it stood out as the only one where a bit of paint came off. Just another one of those messages from the Universe that I am meant to pay attention to this card. Love that kind of thing. :-)I will do some meditations with the card too.:-)
BTW, the reading come out wonderfully, the deck is really working for me. I got as much depth as I usually get with any of my decks. I love this one

For those of you who use these cards - what do you think of the keywords on the cards ?
When I look at them, I think they are all beautiful cards and not really suitable for "ugly" emotions (with a few exceptions maybe) although some cards are clearly more cheerful than others.
Do you look at the keyword and then see how the card reflects that ? Or do you just look at what the card tells you, without paying attention to the keyword ? Just wondering...

For what it is worth, and I have only used them once even if it went well, I look at the keywords. I consider them the answer in concise form, then I "flesh it out with the symbolism to see what the meanings mean to my life.
The images are all beautiful. The artwork is stunning, but some of the symbolism can make you think of ways that relate to the card meanings.
just my 2 cents also. :-)

When I look at the pictures on-line, I can see the anger in the Anger card, that red vortex. But the landscape on Agression does not look that agressive to me, maybe it is in the colours.
But maybe I will see it differently when I see the cards for real.

The Agression card's colors are much brighter in the real card than online that could be part of it.
