I FINALLY got me Cosmic Tarot Deck, along with "Cosmic Tarot" by Jean Huets & "The Cosmic Tarot" by Laura E. Clarson. I am sooo excited! I haven't stopped looking at my cards! I don't want to mix them up, they're in order right now. :) What should I do next? Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm just so happy! :) :) :)

BTW, this is my first deck, so yeahhh.

Rosanne  26 Apr 2005
Congratulations on your first Deck, it will probally be the deck of your Heart, my first Deck is that, tho I have many more now. What I do when I get a new deck, I hold it in my hands for a few minutes while I think about it; then I shuffle and shuffle until I feel its done and I place the cards back in order, looking at them as I place them in order. It usually takes me a while before I read with them. Mix then up- un mix them-mix them up - un mix them until I am familiar with them. Whatever you decide to do I wish you a happy time NYCTeen ~Rosanne

Thank you for the advice Rosanne! I'm still admiring the cards. :)

Does anyone recommend for me to start doing daily spreads? Like draw one card a day and study it?

Cerulean  26 Apr 2005
How about just looking at the pictures, picking out your favorite one or two and then reading about them?

Do this each day for 30 days and if you get a chance, write one or two notes in a journal about the card and what you read.

It's not necessary to do this--but some people find it fun to use your cards and books and study them a little at a time.

I'm glad you found the deck you really liked.

Aw, congratulations NYCTeen!

I've only had my first ever deck for just over a week now... so like you, I'm still up on cloud9 and very excited at the prospect of learning them. I have the Sharman-Caselli deck that comes with a book. But in there it recommends learning just one suit of the Minor Arcana at a time, then to just try doing a simply reading with that one suit by dealing 5 cards using a horse-shoe spread and reading left to right:

1. Present postition
2. Present expectations
3. What is unexpected
4. Immediate future
5. Long-term future

I've found doing this quite useful so far, because it helps highlight the one's that your finding difficult to remember. Hope it might help you too!

Happy learning! :D

Congratulations NYCTeen :)
I think that it is usul to keep a journal. So, whatever you decide about your first spreads, write down everything: which cards you draw and what you think of them. It's not necessary to write much if you don't feel like writing....but write down at least the cards.
This is a good way to learn. You can go back to your previous readings whenver you want. And you will be able to perceive your progress in the knowledge of tarot.

I'm sure you'll find quite useful, if you focus on one suit at a time. :D

I started off just using the cards and then reading from the book. After doing a couple hundred readings you get used to the meanings. I recommend getting "The Tarot Workbook" by nevill drury. I'm looking at it right now. This will help you memorize if you need help.

I never do daily spreads because as soon as I pull one card, I need another. I would also usually forget. In my opinion I don't think daily spreads are worth it. I use the tarot for in depth readings that I can really benefit from instead of 1 card that could link to 100 situations.
