As anyone ever read from these cards? Just wondering because I purchased the set a while ago and found them GREAT. These cards are very expressive and I recommand them to all readers who love animals or cats. But beware they are kind of catty...LOL.
You'll love them I promise.
If you haven't read the review then one should do so at:
http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/baroque-bohemian-cats/review.shtml#344
But mind you what the review does not tell you is that these cards where done with real cats and when you buy the deck or the set (which comes with book and cards) a porition of the money goes to help to find the felines a home.

I find it especially useful with hidden motives. I find the eyes of the cats intriguing. Also, this is the favorite deck of one of my African Greys, Mika. He frequently sends kisses to it. He does not react this way to other decks.

I'm really intereseted in getting this deck. But as for as I know, they haven't released it in Dutch yet.

This is uncannily well-timed as I just uploaded the new website last night. So thank-you for the mention! The site may have some broken links (too tired to check by the time I got it all done) but hopefully it's pretty much all there - and for those of you with Windows it has some nice fades and things. I'm planning to add some more as the days go on - there's just too much we want to show though!
It's funny, we've been working on another book and a deck and I'd put these cards to one side. Then in doing the site I realised again how pleased with them I am - Alex too I think. They DO read well - but surprisingly bluntly, they aren't tactful we find.
We do try to help the cat's home here in various ways - we also put up posters etc for them. They don't get much money from the deck really (the profit margin on it is tiny as we wanted to keep the price down) - but then again, it goes a lot further here and all helps - we want to keep giving support too. Our girl Minnie came from there and she is a wonderful cat (she's the Two of Pentacles, disguised as a dashing boy) so we're especially grateful to them. They do amazing work - they even rehome ferals, which not many places will.
We also work very closely with the Czech Cat Breeder's Assocation. They have been amazing to us - and arranged the photographs for some of the special breeds we needed for the new book (yes, yes, we are carrying on doing this type of work - we're obsessives!)
New site - WITH information on Hermes (which I should have posted ages ago). http://www.bohemian-cats.com/tarot/home.htm
New work - which if you like "dark" (not very dark :-) ) you may enjoy:
http://www.nosfelinu.com/animation%20page.htm
If ever we do the limited edition large version of Baroque Bohemian Cats (which we still hope to find time to get underway) we'll perhaps include some of these new characters.
Oh - by the way, a slightly more mature Minnie is the Innkeeper's Wife in the lace bonnet in these last pictures. She agreed to model for a fee of best steak!

They are quick to locate the hidden issues. The immediately sense sincerity. They explore areas where other decks only touch. I use them last night in a reading on a co-worker of a relative of mine. They brought out problems that this individual has and the way she conducts herself. I feel they are one of the more probing decks that I own. I love the new site!

Oh baba, I love those nosfelinu images !
It is so cat-like, lurking about in the dark and be both cute and menacing.
Like the new website for the baroque bohemian cats too.

Thank-you. It's been a long process doing the new book, but in fact we think the images are the way we want them now. The Vampuss project has been something I've wanted to do for quite a while now, but it was only last year that we were finally able to start. I sometimes think of making a Gothic Cats tarot (big grin) - but I don't think it'll ever happen (nice thought though, but doubt it would have wide appeal :-) )
The new site is miles better I hope (and I'm SO glad to have the Hermes information there at last) - I'm going over the others too, just to get everything the way it should be, I've been putting it off far too long.
I've also decided to "release" some Baroque Cats cards around Prague this weekend. We have quite a few spares of certain cards and it would be fun to let them go and maybe see where they turn up. We'll keep it to the less "dark" cards of course. It's an interesting deck, actually - as we've all been saying - rather untactful at times. I'd be very curious to know if the released cards find suitable people to reveal themselves to. Perhaps we'll never know though?

They are also quick to locate hidden THINGS! I lost the companion book and did a three card reading asking for location. In under 15 minutes I had found it. With a basic amount of lateral thinking and a lot of "well look down" ;)
I love Justice. She has the clearest gaze of all the Justices I own. No-nonsense and you know exactly she's not mucking about with justice and decisions.

Cool idea! Could you put a sticker or some kind of note on them with a "let us know what this card means to you" contact address? Perhaps through the web site or a PO Box?
Like the Bookcrossing site where finders report back about the book.

I like Imagemaker's idea of the sticker ;)

Hey! Stickers are a wonderful idea. Perhaps we can start a "card crossing" little project? There is something particularly nice about the idea of cards being found - or finding their finders. Hmm, now I have to see if we could do some stickers easily - I suppose at worst we could just print some up on our own printer.

I'd love to have this seed sprout around here, too. Thinking about sacrificing a deck to release cards . . . hmmm. (NOT my Bohemian cats, though!)
