Golden Tarot of the Renaissance

I just picked up this deck, yesterday, and it is quite stunning. The images are soft and easy on the eyes, and the gold is amazing. I feel like I am working with something very ancient and regal. But, I have a question, for those who have this deck. Does the gold start to peel or flake off? I am almost afraid to use it, or shuffle it much, for fear of ruining it, which basically defeats the purpose! Thanks!

Hi HearthCricket, I have this beautiful Deck and I shuffle and Spread the Deck a lot. I have not noticed any loss of the foil background. I love using it and I find it a wee bit harsh, maybe cruel is a better word. I too, find it very antique, but accurate to a very specific question. I am more careful with the wording of my question with Golden than, say,my Ancient Egyptian. The Art work brings out this careful attitude in me and I seem to focus in a different manner with it. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I do. ~Rosanne

Thank you for your reply, Rosanne! Now I will not be afraid to give it a shuffle and play with it more! I am anxious to do a reading and see how it comes out. It certainly is a very elegant deck!

Hi, i have this deck and have not noticed any pealing or flaking at all and I don't use it any differently than the rest of my decks.

Just added this gorgeous deck to my Wish List. The minors are non-pictoral like other early decks, right?

The minors have pictures! It is not a Marseilles deck, in that sense. It is more RW based, with some interesting Renaissance takes on certain cards. The whole deck is just gorgeous. I love it. You will be spending some time with this deck!!
