They sold this deck for like 10 euros in the 'mystery shop' (for lack of better words), and that's like half the regular price of decks there... I've seen it laying around there forever now, so decided to buy it last week.
Now, from what I've read not many people like this deck... I must say I did some excellent readings with it last night! I admit that I know nothing about rock art, but the art and colours in this deck is just wonderful to me. Does anyone else like this deck as much as I do, despite its weirdness? :)

wow, Id never seen that deck before...I like the LOOK of it though I think what would turn me away from it is the alternate arcana... The majors and minors look different than the norm...
I'd like to see more people's opinions on it as well

Yes, it's very different! I'm an RWS kind of girl, so this is very new for me.
The minor arcana is actually more similar to the 'traditional' one than you might think (according to the little notes in the LWB at least). It has helped me a lot with my intuition. I don't go by the LWB at all, so my meanings and symbol interpretations have surprised myself. :)

Wow it looks to be a very vibrant deck. I think that once you get past the major and minor names it could be a great tool. I think this is one that I will look out for. I really gotta stop looking at these threads :D

Just looking at the link...
The colors aren't really for me, but I'd love to get a better look at the petroglyphs (rock art). Does the LWB give any info about where they pulled the symbols from? If done with some solid research you could have a really fabulous deck based on some of the oldest magical images in human history!

I am personally dying for a Rock Art Tarot.
I have the book and ever since I got the book, well, I just have to have it.
The work behind the deck is amazing.
I had hoped the Shining Tribe deck would ease my hunger for Rock ARt,but it has not, not at all. Sorry Rachel.
The images have been laboriously collected, faithfully reproduced and lovingly rendered into one of the most unheralded Tarot decks available! That alone should make it collectable! }) But no, it is maligned and unjustly I say.
I want one.
If anyone wants to send me one...PM now for my addie! ;)

I found this deck years ago at a Borders Outlet Store for $5.00 US. A great bargain. I read intuitively with this deck. And I find the bright colors enhance the primative art. The majors have been renamed but reflect the nature of the card [ie., intuition for the hp, journey for the chariot]. The four suits are Intuition, Emotions, Intellect and Sensations.

No, the LWB is just the usual "2 of intellect - meaning 1, meaning 2, meaning 3..." etc, so you might understand why I just skimmed through it. ;) I know that the book you can buy separately is very good though.

I read intuitively with it too. Some of the images are so abstract that it really gets stuck in my brain and I can truly see anything in there. I'm really fond of the deck, though I'm not sure if I'm gonna look more into rock art. I'm happy with it as it is right now.

Perhaps most people think it's "too weird"? I think it can be quite a relief to read without faces, animals and other things on the cards sometimes. :) You'd love the deck I'm sure!

hmmm... I might have to start looking for this mysterious book and deck... I'm trying so hard not to become a tarot collector. but there are so many great decks out there, sigh....
I think that if the artist wasn't going to go with nuetral colors, than the bright ones are the best for stimulating thought flow and making the little impuses in you senses pop. While I prefer neutral colors for this subject, I can see why the bright colors would help make it a more intuitive deck to read.
hmm... yes... maybe on ebay.... "bad ankou, bad"....

Same here. I always thought 4 decks would be perfect. I have 4 now and there are at least 4 more I want... ;)

I bought the set with the larger book. Chapter 2, Field Study, has quite a few photographs of the cave paintings with the author at work sketching. Chapter 6 lists each card and where the original drawings are located. In the spread chapter, there is an original spread based on the drawing on the Ten of Sensations. It uses thirty cards!

It has a pop art appearance. I do not know if I could warm up to it but it is unusual.--Tao

Ankou,
The cards measure about 3 inches by 5 inches. They are slightly wider than the standard RWS deck.:smoker:
