Hiya Everyone
Not sure if this question has being asked before, please forgive me if it has.
What is your overall favourite tarot Deck?
Only choose the one deck. (Add link if you can then we can all see it.
Mine is The Gilded Tarot by Ciro Marchetti

Oh, gawd. This is actually really difficult for me...
I'll go with the International Icon. :)

All I can say is thank whoever that there's soo many different styles of decks now. Relieves a lot of boredom. :D

The Enchanted Tarot by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber.
http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/enchanted/
(The scans here are washed out, but you get the idea)
This was my second deck ever, and while the first (Tarot of the Spirit) will always have a top spot on my list, the Enchanted is "the one".
Funny, I have a copy of the Zerner-Farber tarot (which is a small version of the Enchanted, minus the borders) and it doesn't really speak to me.

I would go for the Golden Tarot.
The package is compact, the deck is bound to be a classic ,the cards are sturdy and golden rimmed, and the images are breath taking. It is that simple.

Druidcraft for me too.
This is the first time I feel I've really connected with a deck and can understand what it's telling me.

Indeed, that's easy...or is it....hmmm well if I was pushed up against the wall and forced to choose only one and one alone, I guess it would have to be the DruidCraft...but I'd be grapping at my Radiant Rider Waite while no one else was watching... })
(it was my first "real" deck......I get sentimental about it...)....:D

I like my decks lots and use them all, but i think the one that sneaks just in front as my absolute fav, is my 'World Spirit Tarot' By Jessica Godino & Lauren O'Leary. The cards are just so vibrant, imaginative and they make me feel all jolly when i use them. The cards are nice and chunky too which i like, they dont mind being dropped in the bath, and coffee or jam spilt on them lol :) .

What a lovely deck RedFox. I have heard a lot about it but never actually taken a look. Reminds me a little of a coloured version of the Light and Shadow. Nice characters. Tell me, though, how do you get on with the borders? Are they distractive?

Oh my...this is nearly impossible to answer. I want to give a whole list of decks, and not name just one. But if I had to name only one deck as my favorite, I'd have to say at the moment that it's the Tarot of Prague.

Its a great deck LittleBuddah :)
I personally dont find the borders distracting - with the bright, lush colours used in the pictures all the black edges do is focus and draw my eye even more onto the cards image. It kinda sets the cards apart from the everyday clutter i have arround me, a sort of breathing space ( sounds a bit odd i know). Others might not like it so much, but the heavy black borders seem to really make the pictures 'work' for me somehow.
Im not sure how i'd feel about a deck that has a really ornate, 'busy' border tho :) .

ARGH.
Even though I only have 3 decks this is a hard decision. ;)
But I'll have to go with the original Rider-Waite deck... My Moon Garden comes in clooooooose second, but I've had my Waite for a longer time, it's very accurate, and since I first saw it on the Internet I just knew that I HAD to get it asap. :)

Current Favorite and has been ever since I got it: The Hudes Deck. The images that others say are dark or depressing or simply expressionless (my friend said everyone looks "bored" in that deck, lol) speak so deeply to me.

I don't have one single most favourite tarot deck. In terms of tarot styles, there are at least two that I especially favour: i.e., Rider-Waite-Smith and Marseille. And I don't have one single favourite RWS-style deck and not one single favourite Tarot de Marseille deck.

So many wonderful decks.
But Crowley's Thoth is the one I couldn't live without!
My vote for the man with the goat!

My soul deck and the one that opened up the tarot to me in a deep understandable way was the Robin Wood deck.
I have three copies of it now, but my first, coffee stained, over shuffled, copy is still my personal reading deck.

I have many that I love. However, if I could have only one it would have to be Universal Waite. That was my second deck, RWS was of course my first. However, when I saw how beautifully the Universal Waite was colored I had to have it. My deck is worn and well-used, but very close to my heart. :)

What is your overall favourite tarot Deck?
I tend to return to this one somewhat plainer, but delicately engraved style. I want so much to make the fancy Soprafino a favorite for all the gorgeous decorations and color-drenched prettiness.
But this one, plainer as it is, allows me to do more creative things in terms of how I want to read it...and has more variations and influences than first noticed at first glance. The engraver who originally did this came to Milan. I've seen design dates varying through 1806-1811, even a bit later.
There's a site showing an out of print version of this deck and has modernized meanings, 'canned' computerized readings and even a 'card-a-day' style option via email. Even though the meanings are modern, it's a pretty way of using something old in an enjoyable way.
Best wishes,
Cerulean

Oh Cerulean! The Aleph is a wonderful deck!
I have never seen it before...and now I think I must find myself one!
It is pretty in that very classic historical kind of way.
Thanks for sharing!

The Visconti tarot
Both the classic reprints, like the Dal Negro version, and the La Scarebo printing. This deck is a wonder to me, the La Scarebo has been an intense deck for me to use, very much helping me have accurate and wonderful readings. The reprint version I love because it has no words, and is a truly classic deck in a wonderful size.

So tempting to give a "short list" of favorites, but when pushed to the wall on this, I would have to say:
Morgan Greer

Tarot of Timeless Truth
It's been my favorite since I got it, and in spite of getting many lovely decks after, this one still stands out.

My Osho Zen deck....actually I just received this deck, the first night I slept with it under my pillow...and during the night I would wake up wondering who is talking...or laughing, etc...and remember it was under my pillow....I just love this deck.

Here's another vote for the Morgan-Greer deck.
Just like a few others have mentioned, I could easily make a small list of my top five, or ten, or twelve...or hundred!
However, at the very top of the list is the Morgan-Greer.

Definitely the Robin Wood for me. I actually bought the Gilded deck first (and that one remains my second favorite and the one I use when reading for others), but one day in Borders I picked up the Robin Wood box and The Magician's eyes twinkled at me from the cover. I had just found out that my soul card is The Magician so I took that as a sign, and I've been using them for most of my own readings ever since. Of course, my wish list gets longer by the day, so I may yet find another deck that speaks to me as well.

Currently, it's the Swietlistej Drogi.
You're lucky to have that. I just became aware of it this week from the home page. It would be nice if it could be published for a mass market with an English translation in the book and a much lower price!
My favorite is the Barbara Walker Tarot.

Scapini’s Il Tarocco Delle Vetrate. I haven't done any readings with it yet, but I think it's the most gorgeous of the decks I have. I just love looking at and handling them. So beautiful!

Its a hard decision to choose between Haindl, Quest & Osho decks.
Right now, I vote for Quest..... This will change in a round-robin way between these three decks every once-in-a-while....

Well, this is what I call "an impossible question".
But, if I had, absolutely had to choose only one, then I would go with something old and classic, and under this very restricted criteria, I choose the Marseilles with no doubt!

I have to say I would plump for the Osho Zen if it had to be the one deck. I just love the depth of emotion and imagery. These cards just speak to me like no other deck. Others I use regularly, and they do give some amazing readings. However... the Osho Zen I reckon has that extra something I can't even describe adequately.

(Talking about the Swietlistej Drogi.)_
...Well, (blush) the One and ONLY reason (and way!) I wound up getting That deck was it was my One (and Only!) Birthday wish *at That time,
LOL!
edited-to-add... *At That Time is an Entirely Different_ time & matter (other than my *Alchemical BD wish) ROFLAO!_ (with a nod to Sir Scion, who's probably ROFLAO himself!, HA!~)
Surprisingly_ I make out just fine with the cards ThemSelves being foreign!
...( in fact, they actually speak "volumes" on their own to me...But, I would sure love to have an English version of the book, at least!...
