I know that there have been several threads quite recently on this deck, and I have read through them, but wanted to start my own to ask a few questions.
I got the Osho Zen Tarot a couple of months ago and I have had amazing readings with it every time, better than any other deck I own :D I find the artwork gorgeously vibrant.
However, it is not set out in the "traditional" tarot style. The suits have different names, and the majors have almost none of the "normal" majors names. And they all have their own names, including the pips, which are almost like keywords, and are certainly a part of why I find reading with it easier than my more traditionally set out decks.
At the moment I do not read for anyong except friends, family and on the reading exchange, and I do not intend to for quite a while yet.
But if I were to do public readings then this is the deck that I would probably use.
However, do you think that the Osho Zen could be seen as a cheat deck for public readings, or looked down upon because of the way it is set out and the card names/keywords? Or me as a reader?
always,
~lady~

Hi lady of dreams
I think the Osho is a very valid deck for reading ,after all even though the keywords are there the cards hold far more for you to read ,and then when you have to think of the way the cards combine to create their unique message .This will be your own take on the reading and very valid .
I used to read with this deck a lot ,I have stopped mainly because I wanted more prediction and less inner work and I also prefer the western traditions now. It's a brilliant deck to use along with other more traditional decks ,depending on your querants wishes and personality
Blessings

I don't see it as a cheat at all. Many decks have keywords (Thoth, Shapeshifter, Gill to name a few.) If you read well with the Osho and feel confident with this deck then you should definitely be reading with it. I like decks that encourage us to think outside the box.

No, just look at the deck! It's amazingly beautiful and full of wisdom and energy. Who in their right mind could have anything against it? (not to say a different opinion is wrong of course).
Just like someone said, there are plenty of decks with keywords. It's like the card's title in a way, no? The major arcana has a title to every card, so why not the minor? :) The deck is wonderful, with or without keywords.

Hi LadyofDreams,
Osho Zen is my very favourite Tarot deck and it is the one that I would use to do most of my Tarot readings. I like it, and use it, for the very reasons that you mention (because it is quite un-Tarot-like).
I don't think it's a "cheat" deck. Really, the cards are only a tool to get us to focus on the information that we already know. I find this deck particularly intuitive and I rarely have to look up the book.
Having said that, I will also say that I prefer to read with Oracle decks. I'm sure that's why I like Osho so much. It's very similar to an Oracle deck.
I don't have an affinity to many Tarot decks but I thought I would mention another which you might like. It's called DreamPower Tarot. Another member here used it in our SOUL Gathering Reading Exchange.
with love
