Have any of you recently gone back to a deck you haven't used in a while, or maybe even in years, and suddenly connected? Today I pulled out my Goddess Deck, which I have not used for quite a while, and did a 4 card spread on a question dealing with this week. It was wonderful to bring out these chubby cards, glossy and rich with colour, and standing out against the dark cherry dining room table. They answered me well, and it made me realize I need to reconnect with some of my decks that get put on the wayside when I get a new deck(s) and push the older ones aside. It was as though it were just screaming for some attention, and gave me such a clear reading. Time to revisit some of my decks and play with them.

I pulled out my Celtic Dragon last night a deck I have never realy used much. She has a new deck, Animals Divine, coming out soon that I pre-ordered so I wanted to get familar with her work again. I enjoyed looking at them and using them again:)

I have quite a few firm faves but I always (not sure why) come back to my Rider Waite. Maybe it is because I know it well. Maybe it is because it was one of my first. Maybe it is because I get clear readings. Maybe it is because I have always loved the 'haunting story-book' images.
Sometimes it stays away for a long time ... but recently, it has made it's way out and has been sat next to me on my desk for the last week. It feels comforting to have it around.

Yes, as a result of the ongoing "Identify this deck" game (OK - so I started it!). A lot of the time, I'll half-recognise an image and all the decks come piling out of their hiding places and sometimes I realise how beautiful even my most neglected decks are. It's also great fun when you have to post a clip and spend ages going through trying to find something that's not too easily recognisable yet something that should be accessible to everybody. I definitely recommend it

I usually come back to my Morgan-Greer, and the best readings I've done were with this deck. It is like an old friend to me, comfortable, easy to shuffle. While there were times when I "commited adultery";) with other decks, it is always thjat one which I go back to.

I have too many decks to use on a regular basis, but from time to time I rummage around in my tarot basket and come up with decks I had almost forgotten. Always these decks bring back happy memories too, how pleased I was with them when I first got them.
For now, decks that have come out of the basket are:
Baroque Bohemian Cats - when I first got it I liked the deck but I just did not want to use it for readings somehow. Now I started using it for readings and it works great. People have said they can be blunt, but so far I have found them clear yet quite gentle.
Herbal Tarot - not the most stunning artwork but the plants on every card gives me the feeling I am in a nurturing growing blooming garden.

I was having a tidy up of my tarot shelf yesterday and decided to take some decks out and have a play.
The Rohrig was one that I hadn't looked at for months, a nice deck but I still couldn't make it a regular reading deck, the Tarot of Prague was another I took out - I've kept that out, forgot just how easy on the eyes it is. The Secret Tarot, Russian Tarot of St Petersburg and the Osho Zen all got used yesterday too but I didn't keep them out.
I did realise that I have decks that I really pulled all the stops out to get and then never really had the time to study them properly so I'm going to start getting decks out more often.
I'm sitting here now surrounded by 6 decks, all trying to get my attention lol - from the gentle Prague to the Gothic Vampire.

So often it seems like *all* my decks are neglected except for whichever one I'm currently involved with (Froud Fairies at the moment). It is just really hard for me to maintain a connection with more than one deck at a time. The Bohemian Cats have been on my mind a bit lately so maybe I'll take them out and see how they get along with the Fairies.

Going back to previous decks is always good for me. I started learning the Marseilles deck last year and then had a break from it, this time I feel as though I have got further with understanding it and the way I read with it. I've also learnt more about the history of the cards. I got saturated the first time.
It's much the same with the Navigators Tarot of the Mystic SEA. It's probably not a deck that I will use often, but the second time around I'm finding the symbolism and Julia Turk's system is becoming more understandable.

I've always connected with all my decks. Well there was just one....but that was a mini deck anyway. :-) No matter how long I am away I always connect. I try to use them all equally (only have 15).
I have ordered a bunch of new ones lately 4 I have not even tried yet...And I have been focusing more on the new ones. I am starting to miss my old ones. althought all of them are always in my heart and mind. I will get to them again soon.

Yep gone back to a few and rexconnected most recently the Mythic which was my first deck. It's an old fav I go away for a time but always end up going back it to play again. It's comfy like old slippers or the really daggy old well worn in trackies or something
