Received my scared rose deck in the post today.
Not sure if I can connect with it or not.Find the images busy and dark.
Does anyone else have this problem?

The Sacred Rose Tarot seems to be something people either love or hate. I love it. This is the deck I really learned on and did some professional readings with, which my clients really enjoyed in seeing a different style of deck. The first turn off seems to be the characters, themselves. I like them. They have, for me, a sort of mix between Human, Alien, Elven or Faerie look! I love the jewel-tone cards, rich with blues, reds, golds, greens, and purples. And my readings have been very accurate with this deck. To me it is almost a fantasy deck, and very rated G, which makes it good for younger readers or clients. But I still use it for myself. Again, like the Gilded, both the major and minor arcana are done very well-no weaknesses-and the slightly smaller sized deck is great for my small hands. But, I will be honest. If I received the Sacred Rose around the same time as the Gilded, it probably would not speak to me. Gilded steals the show, in my opinion. Try the Sacred Rose, keeping an open mind, and if it still doesn't click, try putting it away, for a while, or you can always trade with someone. Sacred Rose has an "other worldly" feel to it, but I like it, a lot.

Give it a try, Martyn...I think the more you spend time with the Sacred Rose, the more you get back from it.
Mine was a gift from a long time ago...
At the time, I was feeling disheartened...because I had asked for a different deck...and got this weird pack full of vacant eyed people!
But this is one of my old favorites. The colors are so pretty...and while the images appear busy, there is actually a lot of great information there...especially for readings that are symbolic or intuitive in nature.
it does have an interesting dark feel to it! I love to use mine around Halloween...the expressions are sort of creepy for people seeing them for the first time, but they grow on you, after a while.
This deck is one of the cornerstones of my collection, because I have had it...and used it for so long!

I drew eyes in on all of the cards with a fine point permanent marker.
I like it so much better.
They have some warmth and soul now.
I can't say it is a favorite deck but working with it after I added eyes has hepled me appreciate it more.
Give it a try...you can always trade it if it really isn't for you.
