Does anyone us the Tarot of the Saints Deck? I just got it, and so far I'm really connecting with it. I am interested in hearing about other people's experiences with it. I think one of the things I like about it most is the fact that it's a Christian oriented deck, and from what I've come to understand, alot of Christian religions view the Tarot negatively. I've always had a little bit of a stuggle between being raised a christian, and certan things I don't like about Christianity. I think that dichotomy in myself is expressing itself through these cards almost. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on this deck?

Hi Moonchild1721,
I have Tarot of the Saints and I like it very much. It is helpful for people who were raised Christian. I'm not Catholic so I don't know a lot about the different saints, but I was surprised at how many I did know! I do remember someone mentioning that there were some problems with Saint Teresa, I think it was. It was something about confusing one Teresa with another with a similar name. I don't remember exactly what it was. Anyway, this is a well thought out deck and I think most of the Saints have been well chosen for the card they are on. Another Christian deck that works well is the Master Tarot (not to be confused with Tarot of the Master!). Some people don't think the Master Tarot is a true tarot deck because it doesn't have suits. It has a Major arcana, a Minor arcana that consists of 40 cards that are numbered 1-40 (which is the same number as Ace-10 of four suits), and 16 people cards (which is the same number as 4 Court cards for 4 different suits). The Master Tarot takes the life of Jesus as the Major arcana, the parables of Jesus as the Minor arcana, and people Jesus knew as the Court cards. It's an interesting deck. But, anyway, I think you will be happy with the Tarot of the Saints. Let me know how you get along with it.

I've have only read for myself with this deck so far, but they have been going pretty well. I'm not Catholic either, I was raised Greek Orthodox, and I was suprised at how much I knew about the saints (I guess something stayed with me from Sunday School:-) This deck was an impulse buy, I had never heard of it before I saw it at Borders, but I'm really happy I got it!

I have this deck and I have found it great to read with. I was raised a Catholic and so I knew most of the saints stories but I found that even for the ones I didn't know or needed a refresher on the book helped greatly. I give people the option to choose which deck they would like me to read with and oddly enough it's not very popular which is strange as I have read for a few quite religious people.

Maybe some people are just uncomfortable with the combination of tarot and christianity? I know alot of people who tell me they would never have a reading done because it's "unchristian". They just can't except the fact that tarot isn't going against their religion.
