I did not want this deck at first. It seemed too "fluffy" for some reason. Thankfully, I was given this deck as a Christmas present. It was ordered through Amazon and came with an accompanying book. The deck blew my socks off artistically and I've found it very easy to read with. The book is excellent and often gives a slant on the cards that I'd never come across before. Recently, I've been trying to read the tarot intuitively, with no LWB or book with listed meanings. This deck is AWESOME for this kind of reading. I've even encouraged a few friends (who know absolutely nothing about tarot) to try to read intuitively with this deck and they've also had some amazing results. I honestly cannot think of one negative thing to say about it!
Many Blessings,

You can not go wrong. It is deep and the art work is awsome. Each card is amazing. the card stock and all are adverage. If you have a LS deck, they are all the same.
What makes this deck stand out:
Unique yet not straying from the original meanings too much. With this deck they managed to be totally unique, yet stay in the realm of Tarot.
The BEST accompanying tarot book I have ever read. Hands down the book that comes with this deck is fantastic. It could be a book in and of itself.
Amazing artwork. The expressions and gestures of the Fey bring so much to the meaning of these cards.
If you don't believe Fey are real you will after working with this deck.
If you don't like it you should have no problem trading it here in the forum. I would volunteer, but I already have 2.
Mimi
PS Get the deck/book set.

1. Modern graphics if you like this. A little of the Disney and Anime (modern Asian graphics) style, but not so much that would make you think it is all cartoons.
2. Book tells of development of the deck ideas and has some line drawings of designs, as well as black and white scans of all the cards.
3. Fresh look at a new kind of world--think of elvish and Rider Waite meanings. The guiding author knew tarot from lots of experience and assisted the artist over a few years to develop the deck:
http://www.learntarot.com/fedesc.htm
4. Colors, symbolism and ideas are clearly explained, but not set in stone--you could make up your own stories about the images quite well!
I just happen to like more human counterparts in my weekly reading decks, so I don't use it every day. But I do find it an excellent alternative.
Hope you enjoy it.

I did a reading just yesterday with this and Froud's Faeries together and it was wonderful. The synchronicity was amazing.
That aside, this is a wonderful, sharp articulate deck. The art work is just great and so is the use of symbolism. It is so easy to read with.
You will enjoy this deck so much!

LOL - I was just about to direct you to Moongold's reading for me as a wonderful example of just how well this deck can work.
The images really are wonderful. I've only had the deck a few months, and I feel that I haven't tapped the surface of what it can do.
Really, I would reccomend both the Fey and Froud's Faeries, if you are interested in fae decks.
As for practicalities: the card stock is good but not great. I admit I've worked with my deck extensively since I got it, but the cards are already showing signs of wear. I happen to like cards that look "lived in" though, so this works well for me. The colors are vibrant, and the images communicate the meanings of the cards from an entirely new angle. Also, the book is the best I've read yet that comes with a tarot deck.
Basically, I cannot say enough good things about this deck. :)

Glad you decided to get it TarotGirlJess,
I got this deck myself a couple of weeks ago and I love it. It isn't the type of deck I usually go for at all - I don't usually go for faeries.
The artwork is awesome and as others have said, it reads so well intuitively. The cards are different enough from the RWS to make them really interesting but not so different that you feel as if you have to learn a whole new system.
Not cutsie at all - some of these cards pack one hell of a punch. The 5 of Swords is amazing.
Enjoy your deck - and definately get the book; you'll be able to read with the deck without it but it's a wonderful book and well worth reading.
Check out the study group threads too - there's a lot to learn over there.
Love

Being a guy I have not always looked favorably on fairies and frilly girl things. The Fey Tarot is extrodinary, the symbolism is quite unique and deep, and we think of the Fey (in another decade) as being a distinct branch of its own in terms of its powerful imagery and ease of reading. It takes me from the level that I associate with the Waite-Smith to a level where we have to look at ourselves through a lens that can see both the universal spirit and its intersection with human experience. It allows me to give readings that are uplifting, insightful and take the querent to a more mature perspective. Dave.

It is that great! It does have a magical quality in the insights it offers. You continually are surprised by what it says and how clearly it says it. I have had more amazing readings with this deck -- it has become my deck of choice in most cases. I do use different decks for different querents, but the Fey is starting to take more than its share of readings. Dave.

And as you see, they're not only addictive, but very contagious also!
I too was hit by the Fey-fever a while ago. It's still the deck I get my most amazing readings from.
A very good choice to buy them!

Hope to see all you Fey owners over in the Fey study group :D
I'm slowly getting there :)
I love reading through all the threads - reading the study group threads was what made me really want this deck.
The thing is, this deck seems so magical, so special, I can't put it into words. It just seems to be a very private deck for me at the moment.
I'm just getting to know it, I think it will take me a long while.
I can't imagine ever using this deck for readings for others at the moment, maybe when I've got to know it I will but for now, it's just for me. Not sure whether I can even share any readings done with it yet. Does that seem silly?
I'm slowly working towards the study group, I may get there, I may not..... don't know yet :)
Love

It is one of the strangest feeling I have... to know that something I did is important to someone, and that there are people that not just "like" it, but they grow on it.
It's an important feeling to me ^_^
Reading the Study group, I realize there are many that know that deck now, much better than me. And that it's strange, too. Strange good, not strange bad.

Creation of anything is much like bringing a child into the world. It grows and takes on a life of its own and makes its own place in the world. At that point all we can do is be proud of what has happened and pleased to follow the progress of that which was created. For us who use the wonderful deck, it is like a fresh breeze and an insightful tool that has been presented to us. We value it and thank you. Dave

The Fey are very important to me. It has become my most used deck.
When I first saw that it was coming- from the Llewellyn catalog, I had to have it. I was already a member of this purple world, with the name Fey, before it made it to market. I saw the deck- saw the Fey name and saw the purple backs and felt that it was made for me :D
Thank You Riccardo & Mara for such a delightful and touching deck.
(and you're welcome)

Yes, thank you both, Ricardo and Mara for a great deck which has a great value in my life.
You should be very proud of what you accomplished...
And about the Study Group, I'm also a lurker. For almost the same reasons as Sulis: how can I put something so magical, so right into words?
But I'll get there... we'll get there. :)
