I went away. I came back and everything is changed. I was no longer registered.
Where is the old familiar "Beginners" section?
Where are all my friends? And I was gone such a short time . . .

Talisman: Welcome back to the new, revised Forums! Solandia moved the board to a different & potentially better server with more space; but alas--none of the membership nor the existing Forums survived the move. That is why it is all new, & the need to register again.
The Beginners Forum was determined to be superfluous since most of its topics could be covered under the other forums.
Am glad you are here amongst us again :)

But MeeWah,
What about us beginners?
With only 10 or 15 years of expierence?
Where do we ask our "dumb questions"?
I had many questions before. Most were probably dumb. But the responses were often witty and helpful. 'Specially yours.
And the color is just awful. Reckon I'll get used to it.

Talisman: NO question is "dumb"! There's a saying: the only dumb question is one that's not asked. & you are very kind, but I am not an expert, just another fellow traveler is all--I can tell from the detours AND there's no map to be found--darn it! Besides, it's usually easier to see another's situation because of the angle of detachment. So if you have any questions, just post it under the corresponding forum. As you've noticed, the board has been up a few weeks & is building back up again!

10 or 15 years experience! What about a year?

Welcome back XCOTYS and Talisman! Yes, I find the grey/white backgrounds a trifle boring, but to tell you the truth I thought the white lettering on the deep purple was a little hard to read... and a little to similar to my website which has yellow lettering on a purple background...

Talisman, I'm relieved you're back, and still your old self....
*Kiama breaks out in tribal yelling and dancing for joy*
And I agree that the colour is a bit bland... By the way, I don't suppose you would be kind enough to re-post The Blue Bandana Spread again, if it's not too much trouble? *Kiama crawls on knees towards Talisman, begging....*

Gosh . . .
I've been trying so hard to respond to this, and my computer keeps crashing. Alas, I fear a terminal hardward problem.
Kiama, I am overwhelmed that you remember the Blue Bandanna Spread story. And flattered. Of course, being a writer yourself -- or if you are not, you will be, it doesn't take the cards to figure that out -- you know how good that feels.
As I remember, it was inspired by all the funny-sometimes sad-sometimes rambuctious stories you have told us. I wait for more. My favorite posters are the ones who spin a tale.
(Spin? I went away for a couple of months and came back to the all new. Right after I left -- I discovered upon my return -- Yarnie had sent me an email, which of course went unanswered. But here's a secret -- his full name is Yarnspinner. Great, huh?)
And remember the story arizonagirl told about a tarot reading that ended up involving a horse? (Well, sounds goofy that way, but, believe me, it was a great story.)
Kiama, I am sorry I do not have the Blue Bandanna Spread story. Just typed it, you know? I know the story -- I lived it -- but I'd have to start all over again. For those of you who are even mildly curious, I'll sum it up quick. Discovery of an amazing spread, a journey, the loss of the spread. Beginners stuff. In other words, a story without a punchline, a payoff, a conclusion. Kiama provided the denouement, if it ever had one.
But I am so flattered that anyone not only read it, but remembered the story. Thanks. Sincerely,
Talisman

Talisman: Not only was your story funny, witty, and heart-tugging, but it also inspired me to buy alot of really beautiful tie-dye silk scarves! I thank you for the inspiration!
And yes, I am a writer, although at the moment I am feeling very blank on tales to spin....
Anyway, it's really good to have you back: I was quite miffed when everyone else returned and you didn't...
Looking forward to more inspiring tales from you!

Welcome back, Talisman!
I, too, was inspired by your "Blue Bandana" story to begin my own quest for a worthy Spread cloth with humble beginnings. While I have yet to find a blue bandana, I've discovered that the tablecloth covering my desk has some rather intricate food stains on it that may lead to an interesting spread or two...
Waiting patiently for the next "Talisman Tale",
Melvis

Talisman inspired me to dig up my bandannas to see which ones would play reading cloth. I have a lavender one that will do a 9-card spread. Perfect for a tri-level Past, Present, Future; Body, Mind, Spirit; Here&Now; Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (including drink & dessert)...& it's too late to think about food!
