Entering a Card

This is for the people in the ritual, and whoever else, all material is from Mary Greer's Tarot for Yourself, which I highly recommend to anyone.

Close your eyes and recreate the card in your imagination. Open your eyes and see if you left anything out.

Readthrough this entirely before starting, you may want to record the diresctions andplay it back when doing the exercise

Close your eyes and take three slow, deep breaths. Imagine the card becoming larger and larger until the figures are life size.....Step over the border of the card and enter it. The landscape now extends as far as you can see in all directions (this is where the blending of the cards i mentioned comes into play, you'll have to see in the distance the imagery of the other cards as they relate to the circle) Look around you. What do you see? Do you hear any noises? What can you smell? What is the temperature? What time of day? Examine moreclosely anything that interests you. Touch it if appropriate, what does it feel like? Who else is there in this Tarot landscape with you? Approach the figure that most attracts you. They have a gift for you, something which you can take back into your life to help you on your path of self knowledge. Accept the gift and look at it carefully. Thank the giver and ask what it is to be used for. Take one last look around and then imagine the border of the card is behind you. Turn around and step over it and watch the card instantly shrink back to normal size. Open your eyes.

We dont have to do the gift part for the ritual, thatcan be done at a different time. Ive also donethevariation of imagining I was the person in the card (which I mentioned) Its done the same way, but instead of stepping over the boarder you look into the characters eyes and imagine you are looking out of them, seeing what they see. You can also have conversations with the figures on the cards if you want.

Its recommended to write down what happened right after because its likea dream andthe memory fades quick.
