Hi
I have a idea and was wondering if anyone else would be interested. I thought we do a round robin kind of stoiy listing where one person gets a card (I want to start it out with the Fool) and tell a short vignette of who the characters are in the card and what they are doing and why. Such as for example a short story
The fool (known to others as Bob ) was on his way to the market, it was a lovely spring morning and he was enjoying the sun on his sholders and his dog Frank.......
Is anyone interested in doing this?
Thanks

This sounds pretty cool. Are you wanting to start out with the major and then work down through each of the minor? Or shuffle and take it from there?

Though this is not what you meant by your title, Tarot Card Stories, I do have a Tarot card story and thought I'd share it.
Years ago, more than I am willing to admit, I was romancing a woman via the mail, and this woman was quite interested in Tarot cards. She was raised in Hawaii and I am in the States of the U.S. variety. One day I got a letter from her with a Tarot card included, the Six of Swords. The pic on the Waite deck is a woman sitting in a boat, with swords stuck in the boat. I kept asking her what she meant by sending that card to me. She didn't respond and didn't seem to know what I was talking about until one day she discovered that card was missing from her deck and she must have 'inadvertently' included it in a letter to me.
Eventually we decided to give it a go, a relationship, I mean, and she decided to cross the great water and move here. She did, and within a year after that we were married. And two years later, we were not.
Perhaps had I known more about the cards back then, I would have seen this card as a omen, that she was crossing the great water but the boat was destined to sink! LOL....

I know this card usually has a positive connotation, but I think those swords penetrated the bottom of the boat.

It kind of sounds like that could have been the meaning to me. (Especially if she did not realize she had sent it to you). Of course- looking back I think we can always find those omens that we chose to ignore- for whatever reason. But maybe this helps us to be more attentive to them in the future.

I always thought that they would make a great mystery. You know each card a story about a murder mystery.
Is that what you are talking about...just not on a large scale story?

i think what dolphin girl is talking about is that we each take a card in the fool's journey thru the deck and make up a story about what happens to him as he meets each card. i've done this in another tarot group and it's a lot of fun. it helps if ppl volunteer to tell a story about each card prior to getting to that card. it's definitely not as complex as the aeclectic tarot project. just a few lines to tell a message about a card. you don't have to use a particular deck. just a concept of the card that most everyone can understand.
ex. the fool comes to a bend in the road and encounters a man appearing to do magic tricks with a cup, sword, cup, and wand. the fool asks the magician what he is doing. the magician says he is learning how to master himself and create magic in life. the fool asks the magician what can he teach him. the magician replies,"find the magic in you!"
then you go to the next card. each story can be as short or complex as you choose. it's imp to the continuity of the story for the ppl who commit to do a card have something ready when we're ready for that card. it doesn't really matter how good or bad. just have something to say. ex. the fool needed a boat ride across a river. he came to a sunken boat with 6 swords in it. he asks,"what happened to the boat?" the ferryman replies, "are you sure you really want to know?" ;) see how simple it is?

Hi
I was thinking along the same lines as truthsayer. Just simple stories that basicly answer the who, what, where, when, why. Like if I look at the fool card sometimes I begin to wonder who is he, where is he going, whats in the bag. It can be as simple as you want just enough to answer any questions that looking at a card can make you think :)

This sounds like this would be a good stretch too for reading the deck. How do we start?
