I am really excited.
I must tell you about my TAROT dream last night.
I have been trying to study the shapeshifter tarot (see study groups) and last night I thought I would like to dream about the cards to clarify the meaning.
WELL I DID!
I didn't dream about the shapeshifter but I can't wait to share the dream as I think it will be useful to everyone. It certainly is to me. I now view the cards in a totally different light.
OKAY - I dreamt I was the Ace of Pentacles (which I usually associate with new money or financial ventures) but in my dream I was a seed in the warm brown earth, just sprouting. Growing up through the soil and reaching for the light. (So I now think pentacles mean growth, striving for light and new life etc.)
When I broke through the soil I saw that the ONE Ace was actually part of a bigger card containing all the Aces.
To the left of the Ace of Pentacles was the Ace of Cups (I'm left handed so it may be the other way round for others) The Ace of cups was full of water and it was pouring this onto the seedling (A of P) helping it grow by nurturing it and giving it emotional support and unconditional love. I realised that if the seedling had too much love, nurturing (water) it may smother it and kill it off so just the right amount is needed.
To the Right of the A of P was the Ace of Swords shining and reflecting light towards the seedling. The sword was a tool to dig the earth around the seedling allowing air to get to the roots, and for trimming and tending the seedling to help it grow tall and straight. I realised that too much tending could cut down the seedling and stunt or kill it so not too much was needed. The sword could also be used for clearing away weeds and clearing a path through for the seedling to stretch upwards.
Directly above the A of P was the Ace of wands. This was the seedling now grown into a tall and strong wand, ready to be put to work, to be used to create things with and also to spread its new seeds in order to start the whole process over again.
I then saw that the Aces were not seperate, but all part of the same WHOLE and each of them need the other to balance and grow.
I see the meanings of the cards in both the rider-waite and the thoth deck with a completely new set of eyes now.
I was thrilled.
I realised as well that combinations mean different things as well
for example A of P (seedling, new life) and A of C (love and nurturing) would mean a baby.
A of C with A of W - putting a lot of love and effort (nurturing) into creating a project etc.
What do you think?

That is a truly wonderful dream. I really got caught up in it just reading it. An inspiring way of seeing the Aces!!
Maybe you should humbly ask for a series of dreams and share them.

That was truly an inspired dream - a vision. The aces represent the four elements from which all the universe is composed, and that was a really cool way to visualize that.
By the way, the way you saw them- A of P on bottom, A of W on top, etc. - is just like a circle of N, E, S, W and the elemental correspondences, upside-down! (Like if you stand in the center, & face north, the P's are in front of you, Swords to the right, wands behind, & cups to the left.
Blessings,
DeLani

Very cool dream! thanks for sharing! Through my limited studies of the Qabalah I have looked at the minors as spehiroth on the the tree of life which to me made them all aspects of the same whole as you saw the separate aces as components or parts of the "ace". If you get a chance, separate out your minors by numbers and try looking at each set (two's, threes, etc) in the same fashion that you viewed the aces. I think you will really enjoy the experience. Keep on dreaming and keep on sharing ;)

WigWag: I agree with Marion & DeLani.
Your dream is enthralling & much more than a dream. It beautifully explains the nature & qualities of the four elements of this life with precision & poetry.
I am printing this out to keep in my Tarot notebook.
Bless you for sharing your experience! I hope you have more such visions (hint, hint) :)

Thank you all for your comments.
I keep a dream diary as I dream fairly regularly.
I will certainly let you know if I have any more dreams. I was really pleased with this one.
By the way I agree with the idea of putting the number cards into the same pattern and studying them as a whole. I usually do that if I am struggling with a deck as in the shapeshifter at the moment and it does usually help.
Thanks everyone.

By the way DeLani
The N S E W thing is interesting. But I did say I was left handed so that might be why its the wrong way round.
I visualise the past to the left of me and the future to the right whereas most people who visualise events do it the other way round.
