Hi
I'm designing my own tarot cards and I know it takes a long time, I 've got the theame etc. sorted out but I've come to a stop.
Is anyone else designing their own cards??? as I would like some advice. I have got in touch with 2 large publishing Co.'s to find out all the info re: artwork and submitting a book, but I'm just stuck on getting started! ARRHHH
Could this be like a writers block?
Any useful websites would be good!

You really HAVE to check out the Tarot Deck Creation Study Group!!! It is in the Study Groups section of the Forum... Why don't you start a new thread - where do you start? You would be surprised how many others are doing it too :D

Good point Kayne!...
I was about to say, yup...I'm designing, but I;m doing a Norse-themed deck, so some of the rules might be a little different....
Best of Luck Funkpuss!
Oh...for the question...I've sketched about about four of the major arcana now, as and when the images come into my head...I'm leaving plenty of background room for small symbolic references....
I kinda wait for inspiration to start drawing, but i have spent about three months pondering....

i know exactly what you mean :)
i read in a book of a way of getting your dreams to answer questions... i thought it would be a great way to get some inspiration for card creation from our dreams...in the book it said to (just before you fall asleep) picture yourself walking down a street, and then past a shop window, and you see the tarot card you are trying to get inspiration for in the shop window, and you stare at it trying to make out what it looks like but you cant see it very well, so as you fall asleep you are trying to focus your subconscious into seeing what your tarot card looks like and the next day if it has worked you should have an idea what you want your card to look like! ofcourse the real method isnt about tarot card creation, i tweaked it alot but it should still work hopefully (the method was originally for a guy who wanted to dream up a
title for his book, the next morning he had his title)...anyone trying this out i'd like to hear how it worked out
:)
