I like to read tarot cards(duh) and was wondering about some other fun stuff to do w/ tarot cards.

I'm a tarot-fanatic myself. I like to use my cards for Spell work, meditation, inspiration (carry a card with me during the day). I also like to just play around and lay out a card or two and find the similarities and differences between the cards laid out. Occassionally, I play "solitare" with my cards.....my cards like that every once in a while! ;)
I am also interested in crafty type things to do that focus on Tarot cards. For example: Cross-stitching the Major Arcana for a quilt, scanning the cards up and making T-shirt transfers out of them. Making windchimes, a Tarot Table....the possibilities are only as limited as your imagination! :D

a few friends and i have been chatting idly about doing a tarot-narrated play. we want to get a deck of oversized cards, and do an improv play based on cards we draw as we go along. we're not quite sure how well it will work, but it sure sounds like fun :}

I LOVE playing games with my cards! There is a really great book called Tarot Games.. (I haven't got anymore details than that, cuz I've forgotten them... Major Tom'll help you out tho!)
And nothr wonderful thing I like doing is building 3D houses with more than one deck, and using the Court Cards as the 'dolls'... With my little 9 yr old sister of course!

I once did a short story, The Way of the Swords or some such title. I never finished it, but the writing process was very instructive, and indeed I'd like to walk down that path a little more. I've always felt that formal boundaries open up freedom of thought. At least in narratives.

Buy a miniature deck and slip tarot cards into greeting cards. Or actually make your own greeting cards with the tarot cards on them.

Well, I'm sort of obsessed with the movie Harold and Maude, right? And I've got all these images and sounds and movies from it sitting on my hard drive, all of which I will use to make a website once I teach myself HTML (I keep putting that off). Anyway, last night I was watching the DVD again for the zillionth time and started thinking about images or moments in the film like this: "Hey, that screen capture would make a really good Four of Swords." So now of course I have to make a "deck," which will just be images I post on the website, although I guess I may print a set out on card stock for myself.
Needless to say I think this may occupy my spare time at the computer for awhile...

Hi Qolus,
I wouldn't wait to learn HTML it is really easy, or at least it is easy to learn enough basics to put up a web page. If you make a web page we will all be able to see the new deck you have been inspired to make :)
All the best,
FH
