Ok, folks,
Yesterday I went to see Hajo Banzhaf at a book shop in South Germany. He was presentling his lates book (which is -sorry to say that - only a compilation of his RW book and the "Keywords" book, nothing new and thus nothing to pull your hair out in case it should not be available in English).
I am no Banzhaf fan although I appreciate his books about the Journey of the hero and the one about the four elements. He told a few things out of the Hero's Journey book and showed some simple card readings with 4 - 7 cards. Some ppl out of my tarot circle were also present, then wannabe Jochen (first thing he did was to pop up when Banzhaf was on stage and to shake hands with him and introduce himself to him) and one of my querents.
I had a discussion with Mr Banzhaf about the 8 of Wands in a relationship spread (he interpreted them as being optimistic but IMO I thought that they meant that the querent should rise into action - isn't that the best thing to do when you want to enter into a new relationship? I mean Prince Charming will not ring your doorbell when you stay all day long at home).

I forgot to say that Mr Banzhaf will also visit some book stores in Switzerland so if there are any Banzhaf enthusiasts visit either his hp to find out when he will be there or I can check it out for you.

catlin, is there anything in particular that turns you off about hajo banzhof? i just curious. i like his the hero's journey book and the one he did on the thoth deck. he really packs in a lot of info. as far as reading cards go, maybe he's more of a tarot scholar than a reader. just b/c he writes books on tarot doesn't make him a great reader.

Hi truth,
Ok, my very first tarot books were indeed the Banzhaf books but I soon discovered that Mr Banzhaf does not tell anything new in his books. There are just the same things retold over and over again.
Besides, I found his arguments very poor concerning the Dali deck and the sluggish edition of the "tarot constellations". That was really poorly done for an autor with his reputation here in Germany.

thanks, i was just wondering. sometimes an author will have one excellent book and after that it's just rearrangement of the same stuff. looks like this is the case w/ him. i have bought 2 of his books--one on the thoth deck and the other journey of the hero. they seem different from each other. i had contemplated buying another but it appeared to be a repeat of the book on thoth.

Hi truth,
