Has this ever happened to you?

There are a few decks which I have pined for, but when I have finally gotten them, I find that I am not really all that crazy about them...This happened to me recently with the Goddess tarot. Have you ever purchased a deck half-heartedly and then learned to absolutely love it? This has happened to me with both the Haindl tarot and the Hanson-Roberts deck. It seems a rather strange phenomenon, and I was wondering if anyone out there has experienced the same thing.

yes, this has happened to me w/ several decks. i half heartedly bought hanson roberts, wheel of change,art nouveau, and nigel jackson. once i worked w/ them i love them. the 2 i remember pining for the strongest and wasn't disappointed was rohrig and the celtic wisdom. i was really looking forward to the dance of life deck b/c i wanted a really good self exploration deck. while it has its pluses, there are some minuses i can't overlook. i looked for the arthurian deck over a year before i found a copy. while i like it, i realize it's more of a self-exploration deck that i'll need additional books, etc. to get the most out of it. that was disappointing. really, no matter how much you look at pictures and read recommendations, you never know what you have until you hold it in your hands. sometimes i think it's more fun to want a deck and seek it than to have it.

I was in the market for a new deck..I kept passing up looking at the hanson-roberts online..Did not hold any interest with me..When I got to the store I ended being drawn to it, so of course i bought..It is the only deck I use right now.
