Its the strangest thing, 3 of my (well 2 of mine and 1 of my husbands) decks have misplaced themselves. The interesting part is my 2 are the 2 decks Ive considered trading, and my husbands is the one I dont like lol. Are they trying to tell me not to trade them yet, that I'll need them in the future or Ill grow to like them? Who knows. They are Spiral, Conely, and Thoth by the way

Actually, it's funny you mention this, because I'm going batty trying to find my Marseilles, and when I think it over I realize it's probably good that I can't find it. My mother bought it in France in the 1960s, and I've thought numerous times since discovering these forums, "Hmmmm... I wonder how many decks I could get on the trading forums in exchange for a vintage Marseilles from France?" And I *know* that if I trade it away I will be very, very irritated with myself later, because as impossible as it is to read with that damn thing, it's a 30-year-old Marseilles from France . So yeah, maybe your decks are protecting themselves. Or maybe your subconscious is denying its knowledge of where they are because on some level you still want them. :)

i don't know how long you've had them, liliana, but i know thoth and spiral are quite popular here. christians readers here are probably more comfortable w/ the connally. maybe you need to give them a little more time. i've known mine to disappear if they didn't want me to read w/ them. then they'll mysteriously reappear later when i have nothing to ask of them. i don't particularly like the spiral either but something about it makes me keep hanging on. maybe for the right trade!! LOL i'm not particularly comfortable w/ my thoth either but it's such a classic that i wouldn't trade it b/c there's so much i can learn from it. hajo banzhaf wrote a really good book on the thoth. who knows? i may feel like reading w/ it again after i finish the book. many ppl have criticized the connally deck b/c it lacks negative symbols. i can't say i'm a major connally fan but occasionally i need a deck that has an extremely light touch.
that's my 2 cents worth!!

I just recently lost my rider deck. I was frantic when I realized I didn't have it and searched all over. I felt like a bad mother or something, it was awful. Finally I tracked down what must have happened and was able to get someone to return it to me.
I'm so thankful to have it back. But this is sort of the opposite of the others. I wouldn't dream of getting rid of my deck. I coudn't imagine replacing it with another rider... that's like getting a new dog when you lose one. Yeah, it's a dog, but it's not the same dog... and i love /that/ deck.
So any thought on what may have happened here, or am i just a 'bad mother' and too careless?

a friend of mine once said to me when i asked him for a reading and he couldn't find his deck that decks lose themselves for reasons, and generally, i've found this to be true :}

About 6 years ago I moved away from this beautiful
place in the mountains, all because of a relationship. I found a place to live and got comfortable, then brought the cards out. I only got to do the one reading, they dissapeared. I looked everywhere. I was sure they where behind my bookshelf. It wasn't until a year later when Iwas moving did I find them....behind the bookshelf.
I only had the one deck at the time, maybe with my state of mind, leaning on the cards would not have been good.

Lol Kiama, where they have to be is hiding in boxes I packed floor to ceiling in a closet. It took forever and theres no way Im digging through all of that, so I guess they are staying there til I move i na year or two, or until they decide to resurface themselves. Frankly I thik Thoth is pissed cause I bought it six months ago and no one has used it, Thoth decks are always very stuck on how importantant they are hehe

No kidding. I knew that before I even bought mine, but goodness! It's like a stubborn little kid!
