~ Rediscovering an old friend

I had a great tarot experience today. I thought I would share... I spent the day with a friend of mine who I have not spent quality time with for a long time. He is an ex-room mate and we were close friends but recently our lives have gone in different directions. I knew there was stuff he wanted to talk about... but couldn't say it. So I did a tarot reading for him. Now, I have been trying to use my new decks for readings lately... I really find doing readings the best way to really learn the intricasies of each of the cards, how they relate to each other and the positions they appear in (despite still being a little hesitant about the meanings...) Today, however, I decided to use the deck I know and love, The Comic Tribe. I felt like I was rediscovering an old friend, using this deck. It sang to me and the reading went so smoothly. The story in the cards rolled out of my mouth, it was just so clear. I knew all the cards inside out and it was such a great tool to help my friend. It was an incredably accurate reading and we discussed the implications of what appeared for hours afterwards. New and exciting decks are great but sometimes it is worth returning to 'old faithful'...
