Tarotbear inspired the monthly discussion of the previous month's daily cards; also Nexyjo has done the honors.
So: how were your cards last month? Any significant appearances of cards & how they related during the month; repeat appearances of the same cards; concentrations of Majors, suits, etc!

I was keeping an electronic tarot journal, but I got lazy before March and stopped.
However, just off the top of my head, some cards that have frequently appeared in readings this past month include ..
3 of Pentacles
2 of Pentacles
2 of Cups
10 of Wands
Page of Wands
Page of Swords
Knight of Swords
Hermit
High Priestess
So far, the readings haven't been very accurate looking back..
but perhaps it's a wait and see? Don't know.
Lately my faith in the tarot being anything other than a bunch of irrelevant images on paper that do nothing whatsoever in the way of accurately depicting past/present/future situations has greatly decreased. I'm disappointed by it really.

I got the following cards in almost every reading I performed for the month of March:
7 Cups
10 Swords
King Wands
I did my last reading for the month, on the 30th with my Sacred Circle, and did not get the 7 of Cups. And for the first time, ever, the King of Wands was not reversed. The readings correlated with what was going on during the month and the reading on the 30th was spot on.
Edited to add that The Chariot showed up in every single reading as well.
This is a good thread. So everyone needs to respond. Now. :D

I have been using the Chinese Tarot.
8 each of Coins/Pentacles & Swords
6 Staves/Wands
10 Cups
8 Court
5 Majors (0-The Fool, 15-Temperance, 10-Wheel of Fortune, 18- The Moon, 7-The Chariot)
The cards appeared singly with a few exceptions. 2 & 3 cards twice; 4 on the 1st day of the Full Moon.
2-Swords & 2-Staves appeared twice.
I noted there were more Cups the week of the Full Moon. Interestingly, 18-The Moon appeared on the 2nd day of the Full Moon.
On its 3rd day, the Ace-Cups & The Chariot prompted me to perform a ritual for thanksgiving.
It was a very busy month with many concerns including readings for other people.

I have tried this daily card selection but it never works for me. For example I get power card (four of Disks) in a day that I end up to be totally down and out. In another day I get the six of disks and in the same day I receive a bad news by mail.
Either I am doing something wrong or this daily selection is meaningless as far as forecasting the events of the day are concerned. Am I doing something wrong?

Mehrdad: I doubt you are doing anything specifically "wrong". Perhaps you could try looking at the cards in question as expressing the opposite or as "reversed".
Thus, 4-Disks could mean lack or loss of power &/or security, etc. Also, the need to acquire same.
6-Disks could mean a loss of a benefit or giving up something rather than receiving a boon or reprieve.
Does this make it clearer?

I use Thoth cards, which does not believe in reverse reading. I personally do not believe in reverse reading either. Are you saying that I should change the rules and read these cards in reverse direction too?

Thank you, Meewah, for picking up the ball on this once-monthly feature and (hopefully) keeping it running in the future.

Mehrdad: I prefer to shuffle so the cards remain upright as I do not need to see reversals to read them as such. While I do not specifically look to throw reversed cards, on rare occasions they do appear in my own throws or in those I do for others (including some of the readings posted in the Your Readings Forum).
I see each card as containing a range of meanings within it, capable of spanning the spectrum of the sublime to the least of its energies. Though a card may appear upright, within the context of the particular throw it *can* suggest a lesser energy or manifestation. Hence, it is reasonable to read it as something that is not happening; a delay; a blockage of some sort; as a "negative" energy rather than a "positive". An apparent negative does not have to mean it is a bad influence. It depends on the nature of the matter to which it refers where it pertains to a qualitative interpretation.
Since your comments indicate that the upright appearance of both those cards did not describe the circumstances, I would take them as having the opposite meanings.
As for "rules", I am not stating that they are to be broken but that one might consider other possibilities.

Tarotbear2: Thank you. I plan on continuing this feature--I only need to remember to do so!
BTW: Nice to see you :) Care to share your month? It is ok if you decline.

I have become facsinated by the cards and their reappearances in my daily 3 draws. I just started on March 20th and had 9 draws for the month, not much to go on. I have worked up an excel spread sheet to keep track of my draws. In March, 15 of my cards were Major Arcana, 1 Wands, 2 Pentacles, 5 Swords, and 5 cups.
I had 4 days in a row that were very interesting to me in terms of card duplicity:
Body/Past Mind/Present Spirit/Future
3/27: 7 Swords Rev. Sun 8 Swords Rev.
3/28: Empress Star Rev High Priestess
3/29: Judgement Rev. 8 Cups Empress
3/30: Star Empress 7 Swords
I would love to hear how others would have interpreted these cards.

I'm not surprised; you will only get out of it what you put into it. Not amazed to see you 'blowing off' Tarot as a waste of your time.

WeeWah -
March was a very unsettled month full of many reversed cards at the ends of weeks (I work weekends) and not surprisingly, they seemed work-related. The new hotel is about to open and departments have been losing people and shifting people and rearranging schedules - much to the distraction of the employees.
Amazingly, there were no repeat cards in March.
Although I do not think the cards 'pinpointed' any one thing, I still feel they gave me a fairly accurate appraisal of my day, especially when you get a reversed King of Pentacles and go in to find your bank manager is on a rant! Synchronicity is everything! (Thank you, Dr. Jung).

New2Tarot: Did you notice a pattern?
Daily cards can have broad applications; may refer to self, a situation, someone else or all of them. One way to make sense out of a seemingly no-sense pattern is to group several cards together, such as the cards for a week & try reading them as a spread.

SarahEnglish: The throws you list are intriguing.
Regarding the 1st set of cards:did you change your mind about doing something because some development made it superfluous? It looks like a difficult situation corrected itself & resulted in clarity, thus freeing you from feeling helpless.
As for the other throws--they seem to indicate working through a situation. Forgive me for being so personal, but they seem to refer to or be related to a pregnancy.
I may be way off base with all of it, but I am curious to know if any of this is close.

Tarotbear2: None of my cards were reversed but given the concerns that arose, some of them struck me as reflecting the real life intrusions. It was not a boring month, but I would be happy to hit a plateau.

MeeWah,
DEFINITELY NOT pregnancy LOL! Unless those knots come aloose!
I am getting alot of cards that have pregnancy or birth in them but I read them as being more about creating something else besides a child.
The rest of what you said is uncanny. Someone that I considered one of my best friends became an alcoholic during 3 years that I lived in another state. When I moved back to Atlanta, I noticed how much her behavior had changed, and called attention to it. Anyway, after alot of horrible social incidences, things came to a head between she and her husband. They divorced, he got sole custody of his two boys and she placed alot of the blame on me and had not spoken to me for about a year, year and a half. I had heard that she had quit drinking several months ago. She finally emailed me and asked to get together for lunch. The first draw was the day before the lunch. The next day's draw got me all excited because I read it as being an indication that the lunch would go well, I would get my friend back and everything was going to be hunky dory. When I hugged her hello, I smelled wine on her breath and I was so disappointed. I realized that even if she did get better, my friend of 8 years ago is gone for ever. (As is the person I was 8 years ago) I had to come to grips with the fact that I didnt want to rekindle this friendship after all - I changed my mind! All the pain and suffering I went through on her behalf had been wasted time and energy. I spent the next several days being very sad and working through those emotions and giving myself permission to let go of her. And maybe through that release, I had a kind of rebirth of myself. So you are right on target!!! you get a gold star!

SarahEnglish: Aha! & thank you for the feedback.
I rarely refer to pregnancy unless there are other indications because it is one of those tricky things to read. There seemed to be no clear indication of an ending of something so I went for pregnancy.
It seems you placed a part of your life on hold because of this friend & sought to help her. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to "help" an alcoholic who does not want to help herself, though I understand why you would--based on the past relationship & the person you thought you knew.
With the realization of the true circumstance, you were able to give the self permission to release a non-productive & potentially negative relationship. (You have been a good friend, & you did your best but some things are not within one's power "to fix".)
The relief from responsibility confers a breath of fresh air; reaffirms that it is alright for you to get on with your life without her as a friend.
I can relate to this so well as I had a similar experience with a friend I have known nearly all of my life. By the time her other friends & her husband left her, her mental & physical deterioration reached the point of no return. Bless his heart, her husband still checked up on her out of concern.
I finally had to accept the fact that I could not help her.

Isnt it scary that we can know that we can't fix it, yet we still hold out hope. I have known this girl all of my life. Her father is my Maternal Grandmother's 1st cousin.

Well, so far my readings in this month were quite "stable"; nothing really serious as far as I can tell and thats exactly how the last month was for me; quite calm.
However, there are some small issues going on and in my readings I see the Justice and Ace of Cups pop up a lot. Thats about the only thing which got my intention, I think it may have something to do with me finding another job or finally getting some satisfaction from my current one.

Diane: I am also accustomed to seeing Page-Swords. It appeared twice last month--which I forgot to mention in an earlier post. At times, they also relate to my youngest son.

Lion-O: Justice & Ace-Cups may well concern the issues you referenced, especially if those were your initial impressions. Initial impressions carry weight.
Justice could pertain to (the need or desire for) an appropriate job situation equal to the abilities.
Ace-Cups can refer to emotional fulfillment or an opportunity/offer leading to same.
They can also be encouragement to be open to those qualities in the life.

SarahEnglish: Sometimes hope is all one has. One cannot give up as that would be like throwing a life away. Had the circumstances been reversed, I think my friend would have tried to do the same for me.

MeeWah, unfortunately for me, one of the facts that I had to face was that I was the giver in the relationship. If the tables had been turned, I would have been scorned and talked about. Nice friend, huh! I don't regret it though, I gave because I wanted to, it made me happy. I was the better person. And I can say that I did my best with no regrets. I can enjoy my freedom from the pain. I wish her well, and continue to pray for her recovery.
