Geenius at Wrok has also designed tarot icons for use in the forum. These are suit symbols and may be used as shortcuts for any minor arcana card as follows. Remember to type the codes in uppercase for the icons to work.

A:CS - Ace of Cups - a:cs
A:SS - Ace of Swords - a:ss
A:WS - Ace of Wands - a:ws
A:OS - Ace of Pentacles - a:os

A:CL - Ace of Cups - a:cl
A:SL - Ace of Swords - a:sl
A:WL - Ace of Wands - a:wl
A:OL - Ace of Pentacles - a:ol

The smaller set does not break up the flow of the text, but the larger set is a easier to read. Thank you to Geenius for this useful addition to the smilie collection :)

Thank you, thank you!

And I designed them to match the vB smiley collection, so as a bonus, you can use the large pentacle as an emoticon:

:) = I'm joking
:( = I'm sad
 = I'm shocked
 = I'm angry
:OL = I'm mysterious and impenetrable

Well, I got the idea in the first place while responding to a post on the "Your Readings" board. Just as an example (apologies to Raeanne, whose words I'm swiping), this:

Quote:
The Knight of Swords could be your friend, but it could also be your decision to storm the castles of academia! The 8 of Pentacles in the present position seems to show the hard work that you need to do now to get everything ready (move, paperwork for registration, etc.). The 6 of Pentacles could be a problem with a loan, grant, or other type of financial aid that you haven’t heard about yet.
could be rendered like this:

Quote:
Kt:SS could be your friend but it could also be your decision to storm the castles of academia! 8:OS in the present position seems to show the hard work that you need to do now to get everything ready (move, paperwork for registration, etc.) 6:OS could be a problem with a loan, grant, or other type of financial aid that you haven’t heard about yet.
Especially useful if you're referring to the same card again and again.

If you wanted to extend the shorthand scheme, you could use hyphens to refer to cards that occur in sequence in a reading as a group (Kt:SS–8:OS), an equal sign to refer to cards that reinforce each other (7:WS=9:WS), a slash to refer to cards that oppose each other (7:WS/3:OS), an r afterward to indicate reversal (6:OSr).

For majors, you could abbreviate their names (examples: F Mag HP Ems Emr Hier LL Ch Str Herm WOF Just HM Dx Tmp Dv Twr Star M S Jmt W) or use Roman numerals, though the latter could trip you up in the cases of Strength and Justice. Or you could use Kayne's icons—his majors are a little more obvious at first glance than his minors. Or I suppose you could also just spell them out. :)

Wow - the icons are really cool! Good job, Geenius! *applause from me too!*

Jenny :)
(I do realize I'll probably have to think _at least_ twice about all the abbreviations that will turn up now: Kt:CS , Q:WS and what not.... Hupp - I can tell you we didn't have these terms in our English classes! :D )

What the heck is uppercase?

Sorry I'm not so deep into computer stuff.

Would there anybody be so kind to do a "pip icon class for dummies" for me? I'd love to use them for taking active part in the reading sections.

Thanks.

uppercase is when you press the caps lock key on the keyboard or use the shift key to get the big letters LIKE THIS ...lowercase is the opposite :)
