When shuffling the cards do you pay attention to any cards that "fly out" as you're shuffling?
Shuffling the cards while watching TV tonite I had 3 cards, all the same suit "fly out" followed by The Fool. This did not happen at the same time, just in the course of shuffling them.
Mostly because they were all the same suit I wrote them down. Do I need to study these cards further because my deck is trying to tell me something or am I just clumsy?

Personally, I do pay attention to cards that "fly out" while I'm shuffling the cards.
It depends on how they fall out, sometimes I'm just being clumsy because the cards are really a bit too large for me to shuffle them properly. But sometimes they clearly "fly out", and that's when I do pay attention to them. It often happens that the card that flew out occurs in an important position in the reading.
And about a week ago I did a reading for someone who had told me just before that she saw herself as the Queen of Wands. While I was shuffling the cards to do a reading for her, the Queen of Wands came flying out... I saw it as a signal that this reading was clearly for this person.

I also think it depends on how they 'fly' out. Recently had one that fairly flung itself out of the deck, and it turned out to be very apropos! On the other hand, you do occasionally drop cards as you shuffle, and if it just feels ordinary, put the card back and keep going.

Greetings Nightwalker.
I just bumped up a thread on the 'flying cards syndrome'. :)

Hi all,
Yes I do pay close attention to the fly aways. If it is more than just 1, then those are the cards I start the spread with. If it is just 1, I hold it out and see where it fits.
They always seem to fit.

I have little grace, so I tend to drop cards alot or generally fumble. I can drop like 10-15 cards at a time, so I just ten to have a Do-over with the shuffling.
However I do know to pay attention to the downright flings-with-hangtime. Its kind of like hearing something go *whistle* HEY! Look at me! Whoo! Down Here! *whistle*(kinda like the Sims when you think about it....)
I use it as an aside instead of the spread itself, just easier for me that way....

i only read the cards that fly out of my deck. that's how i pull the cards for a reading. i let them 'pull' themselves!

Well, I don't think I'm being clumsy because I don't usually have a problem with cards coming out of the deck as I shuffle. At least not this time any way.
I went and read the thread that got bumped. I appreciate this as I had thought that there was one but I couldn't find it.
And I never thought about using the cards that fly out for a reading. I may have to try this.

How do you do this? :P
And what order do you put the cards in? Do you shuffle them again when you're finished shuffle the first time? What if you need only 10 cards and 12 fall out? *lol*
You have to describe this method! :)
