Brightest Blessings
I wonder if anyone here lays out stones when they do a reading and if you which ones and why? I had a reading done for me once and he laid out about 7 stones(give or take) and they all had a purpose but I can't remember which ones he laid out. It was a awesome reading!

The only stone I sometimes lay out when doing a reading is a labradorite. It's supposed to give confidence, insight and vision. Which can be very helpful when doing a reading. ;)

My girlfriend will lay out stones with the reading to help define and refine the reading. They go into a spread just like a tarot reading, but she draws them randomly for divination.

I occasionally will lay out runes to get a general feel of a reading. It really helps!

same here...I like to use my onyx runes (they're the best!) when I am having difficulties with a reading. I will use one rune for the card that doesn't seem to make sense at the time, placing it on the card itself so that it provides an "illumination" to that card.
I have heard of people who do use crystals when doing readings. From what I understand it is usually to generate certain vibrations for the reader rather than a way of divination. Much the same as some people may light a candle of a specific colour and/or burn a specific incense.

Greetings crystalmoon and welcome to the forum! :)
I use stones only at one occation: when doing love readings for myself. I ask them to guide me along with my cards. The only four stones I use are: Moonstone, Tiger Eye, Ox Eye and Falcon Eye. I'm not sure the names are correctly translated... *s*

Hi Catlin.
I noticed you mentioned your use of crystals in Tarot Spellwork. This is an area I'd dearly like to know more about, like how exactly do you incorporate the cards in your workings?, and can you use them for a specific spell?....tailor made so to speak.
I'd very much appreciated your insights, and/or anyonelses:)
Also, is there any books you know of that focus specifically on tarot in spellwork?.
Many Thanks!,
Ingrid.

Hi Eponaz,
I don't have any experience with using tarot in spellwork myself (yet ;)), but I have just ordered the book Tarot Spells by Janina Renee which I learned about on this forum.
I'm sure there are others who can tell you more about the spellwork, but I thought I'd already give you this book title.

greetings to Eponaz, and a brief answer to the inquiry about tarot use in spell work:
I learned it this way~
One of several schools of Magickal Arts consider the 78 tarot cards to
be a hidden system of preserving "arcane" or mystical knowledge...
they explain that in the 16th century there was no safe way to record or pass on this kind of secret knowledge
because you'd get
in serious trouble for even thinking against the authority of the moment
(of the century?)
Many great books on this: most are out of print. . .
there is a three to five vol set (really great books) by Osbourne and Phillips
which you can find at least one of from Barnes and Noble
try~ "The Foundations of High Magick"
and then, later, "Mysteria Magica" (only if you are SERIOUS)
If you get lucky or have a good source- you may find a copy of a
book by Tony Willis that is related to the Magickal Tarot Deck but
is long out of print (as far as I know) I keep it put AWAY because it is falling apart...don't have the exact name.
I got lucky in a bargain bin with the Tony Willis~
if you are interested in specific concepts and have a need for a spellworking with tarot, I will provide the knowledge I have,
and I'm sure there are lots of people on site
who can help!

Hi catlin.
Yes, you're right, it's a red tiger eye. And falcon eye is a blue/black one. I also use stones for tarot spellwork. :)

Hi Eponaz,
I started with the Renee book but I also create a lot of spells myself but as a beginner I'd recommend you sticking to the Renee book which is really worth every penny. Just try to find it at your local library or in a book shop where you can have a peep at it before buying it.

Thankyou all for your replies to my spellwork inquiry!. I shall indeed look for that tarot spellwork book, and in the meantime;), if anyone would care to share their experiences of having used the cards in any kind of spellwork, then I'd *love* to hear all about it!.
Curious creature I am, always wanting to know everything! lol!.
Thanks One & All!
Eponaz.
