meditation, becoming still.
Thank you Thomas and all who have posted here.
What I have found also that is important to be a reader is the ability to intuit, perceive within and the becoming still. Going into the Silence into the inner sanctuary, the inner temple, the altar of spirit and mind, between the spaces of your thoughts, a space between your breath, there is a stillness, a peace a inner harmony, a inner Self Knowingness and a recognition of a inner mind or consciousness. This can be reached through what is called a inner discipline known as meditation which is not a discipline at all but a inner way of being. This art or practice of meditation can help you reach with in to your inner self that place of Knowledge of Knowing which is really Self Recognition the Self recognizing Itself and not seeing itself separate from what it perceives it is one with the object of its affection or attention.
There are many forms of pratices bu they all have certain keys that are in common. They are all a way to becoming Still. They will always help you to relax to let go to become receptive to you inner mind and Self, to become cognitive.
Here are four steps that can be helpful to you in getting in touch with your Higher Self the High Priestess or your inner Guide.
1. Become still. (meditation)
2. Ask your question.
3. Listen for a answer. (but be unconditional in your listening)
4. Expect a answer. Be gentle with yourself. don't force it, it will come.
Becoming still is a way to become objective and learn to be the observer of the observed with out judgment. Breath observation is one way. First find a place a sacred place a quiet place where you will not be disturbed or distracted and sit in a chair with your back straight relax and take a gew deep breaths. Close your eyes and simply by observing you breath and letting go of any thoughts that come to you while your attention is on your breathing. If you should become distracted that is ok let go of the distracting thoughts notice it and return to your breathing. This is a way in to your deeper Knowing the inner sanctum of your inner Wisdom. It is a definate pathway in to your center of peace and stillness. This should be done daily and at least twice a day 20 min a day. Once you have found the doorway in to that center of Being and you recognize its condition of inner peace and your can establish that connection or inner recognition at will then instead of focusing on you breathing focus on the silence instead and learn to live and be in that inner silence and there receive instruction from you inner Guide. So when you do Tarot you have entered the inner temple of the ancient mysteries of the ancients wisdoms where the hierphant is your inner Teacher and Guide. This is a Way to learn to live in the Present in the Now because in the Now is the Secret Teaching of all Ages and through understanding the Tarot from that center of knowledge you will be able to tap in to the inner reservoir, the Akashic or what the High Priestess hold the Torah or the Book of Life.

welcome to the forum pheonixinspirit,
i am new also. I was reading your post and i am at the moment trying to do just that , but I find it difficult to concentrate as my mind always wanders, and then i feel i can't do this, therefore i have no confidence. Tuning in is my problem, sometimes i can other times i can't. (sometimes i think that i am not intuitive)
and tips on building my confidence?
sorry to just lay one on you, but everyone here is soooo helpful and you certainly know what you are talking about.
welcome again,
cheers
Kazz

Kass,
No problem really that is expected that is why you are learning to train you mind to think in a certaing way to learn ot be objective and intuitive, but it takes effort and a willingness to stay in there. What I do is keep my attention on what I am concentrating on whether it is a beautiful flower a idea or as I have suggested watching your breathing and when if you find yourself distracted by a thought, that is ok, that means it is working for you. You see you must move through these layers of thought to get to that center of peace within you and it will appear that you are doing it wrong but you are not. As you forcus on your breathing and not resisting your thoughts and as they appear in your awareness just notice then just like if you were in a car or a train and watching the scenery, but your main focus is where you are which in this case is on your breathing. By bringing your attention bqck to your breathing each time you are distracted you are then able to let go of that level and become more and more centered and relaxed. Trust me it will work, if you work it. The key is not to resist or try to control you mind. Instead let your thoughts go with our wrestling with them. Do not fight youself and you will begin to relax and reach that inner state of mind that place of inner peace. That place of cognition or Self Knowingness. But you must stay with it and be consistent and do it daily at the same time and let there be no outer distractions. Enjoy!
