i found this at http://www.thecrystalgate.com i was embarassed to find myself described here and i know i'm not alone! ;) LOL
12 STEP TAROT DECK PROGRAM Proudly presenting, for the first time ever, the official Crystal Gate 12 Step Program. If you find yourself anywhere in here, you are one of us, whether you know it or not. hehehe 1. At some point in time, you have had a Tarot reading. 2. At some point in time, you have visited the Tarot section of a metaphysical (or mainstream) bookstore. 3. At some point in time, you have purchased/been given a deck of Tarot cards, with or without accompanying book. 4. At some point in time you opened this deck, and oohed/aahed at the pictures. 5. In total privacy (your bedroom, the bathroom, the back seat of your car) you attempted to do a reading for yourself using said cards (with or without having read the accompanying LWB - Little White Book). 6. At some point in time you attempted to read for a fur person (who was simultaneously attempting to sit on the cards). 7. At some point in time you invited a friend/neighbor/family friend over for a *reading*. 8. At some point in time shortly after this you actually read the LWB and/or other accompanying material. 9. At many points in time after this you find yourself back in the stores of choice, purchasing more decks, always for cash - no paper trail. :) 10. At some point in time (between going to stores) you found the internet. Wahoo!! You found others like you to talk to! 11. At many points in time, after talking to other kindred souls on the internet, you found more decks/books that you *had* to have. 12. At this point in time you need elegant storage cases for your books/decks. My friends, you *are* a full-fledged Tarot-holic - certifiably Cartamonicaly challanged. There is no cure - you are one of us. :) Oh - the 22-step auxilliary program? The Fool's Journey, from which no one returns the same. :) (c)Bonnie Cehovet September 2000

12 Step Program For Tarot Book Addiction
It has come to my attention that there may be some people within this group that are addicted to books. If you are not sure, check the following list of symptoms - if you are showing more than one, you are addicted and need to contact me for information about local meetings in your area. 1. As a child, you would rather read than play outside. 2. As a student, you took the summer reading list very seriously. 3. The first card that you had in your own name was a library card. 4. The librarians in your local library know you by name. 5. You have the phone number to the library memorized - so that you can call in and renew the books that you haven't finished reading (and making notes on). 6. The first place that you turn to in the Sunday paper is the book reviews. 7. At least once a year you buy a new bookcase in which to house your books. 8. You have reference books for your reference books. 9. The plants in your house are sitting on books.
10. You own stock (or should) in Amazon.com.********i know we have a lot of guilty parties here! LOL*********
11. You are on a first name basis with the UPS man, and he knows to leave packages at the back door when you are not home. 12. You are seriously considering writing a book. If you show one or more of the above symptoms, please consider getting help. For those with serious addictions - we have an ancillary 22 step program. (c) Bonnie Cehovet December 2000

how many counselors does it take to change a tarot-holic ?
They can only try. How many decks and books do they have ? and how many people will it take to carry out all the boxes full (cuz ya' gotta do it all at once or the T-holic will kick in to survival mode)and even then the tarot-holic has that one deck that no-one will find.

Okay, I admit it. I am powerless against the call of new decks, old decks, books (tarot and others), bags, boxes...and if anyone tries to fix me I'll run like hell...

ROFLMAO!!!!!
Oh that is me!!! (except the paper trail thingy - when you run out of cash, you have to resort to the credit card, because you HAVE to have that certain deck even though you really don't have the money. ROFL)

Kiama: .dc "amended" her response due to an issue over a word she used.
All: Despite the manner of expression, I want to point out that .dc's post was apparently a spontaneous expression of her feelings & *not* directed towards *anyone*! I hope that anyone who saw it will take that into consideration & understand.
.dc: I am very sorry for inadvertently offending/hurting your feelings. I hope you will reconsider.

Ok, I publicly declare myself as an tarot + book holic beyond cure/remedy/ help whatever! I even declare that I am PROUD of that!!!
So are tarot/book holics a thread to their environment? Did we ever consider if your friends, families, pets, etc are co-dependent?
Pl help me answering this sleep-depriving question!!!!

~giggle/snicker/snort ... wipes eyes ... holds sides ... tries to speak but busts out laughing yet again ... tears running down her face~ I am so proud of my self! I am the perfect tarot and book-holic. Well other than reading to furry friends and could care less about the paper trail *LOL*. If anyone finds a cure to this addiction please do not share it with me, I like things the way they are ... just talking about this makes me want to go get a new deck today *LOL*
