I have a box that would be perfect to hold a deck of tarot cards. However I've been using it to keep money in, mostly small change. Plus it has a varied history of keeping jewelry and other stuff (I'm pretty sure the previous owner kept his weed in it). I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on clearing that energy from it, or if you think that's needed. I'm just looking for some opinions.
Tommorow is a full moon and I was thinking about leaving it out underneath the moon (I've read that in relation to tarot decks) but I'm scared it will rain and I'll end up with no box at all.
Thanks,
Sharon

Wel, if money's been in it, then I would cleanse it. everyone handles money, and therefore their psychic impressions will get stuck on them, and the wood helps to preserve these impressions. I suggest smudging it with sage incense, and instead of putting it in the moon, I suggest putting it in the sun.

Puting it in the Sun is a great idea! You could put a clear quartz inside to clear it and a jade or tiger's eye to gain inner wisdom.

Sea salt is supposed to be a good cleanser, trying leaving the box on a bed of sea salt for 24 hours, to catch the moon and the suns rays. Also a clear rock crystal is a good alround stone, perhaps keeping one in the box for a while might work. :)
Edited to ask:- Are clear quartz and clear rock crystal the same stone?

Wash it with soap and water during the new moon (use some Murphy’s Soap), take your time. Between the new and full moon, let it sit in the sun for 3 days (is it finished wood? Varnished? If it's plain wood, keep it oiled so that it does not crack). Put it out during the Full moon with a little sea salt and or (I like fresh cut lavender) herbs (sage is commonly used).
If the old owner used it to store things stonger than weed (razor blades and mirrors) you may want to use steel wool after the soap.
Enjoy your new deck box!

Thanks for all the great advice. I think I'm going to try and find some smudge sticks. Leaving it in the sun sounds like a good idea as well, now we just need a sunny day.

Speaking of Money, besides any psychic impressions, money is Physically dirty! Our regional manager at work told us that 90% of all money tested has fecal matter on it! I know that is gross , but I'm serious , he told us this at an employee meeting.
I work in a resterant and so am supposed to wash my hands all the time and Especially when handling money!
