Has anyone ever heard of using Tarot to get guidance or wisdom from your ancestors or to try and communicate with a deceased friend or relative? It seems to me that the cards would be a useful medium (wow, double entendre there) for such a thing. I have never heard tell of it nor have I seen any kind of book about it. Any comments or ideas?

I suppose it's possible, but I haven't heard of anyone who's done it that way (well, outside of Miss Cleo.......). Usually the technique used to contact thos who've passed on is meditation.

Good question, Jerusalem!
The main ways I know of for communicating with the 'dead' is the Ouija Board... I think probably the Tarot would not work as well with this, because, unlike the Ouija board, it does not have letters and numbers or words on there for the spirit to spell out what they want to say exactly. The Tarot would be a bit more ambiguous I think... Just imagine, asking your dead grandmother something, and then having to try and interpret the cards she drew for you.... I'd get very confued and annoyed after a while...
This is very thought provoking, thanks for posting it.

Sure thing jeruselum.
I have become possessed by the dead and have exchanged the messages to the living.............while using the tarot....................
um.........................it is scary and you'll never know what spirit will invade your space.
Good luck. I never do a protection / blessing of my cards but......i guess i should.......anyway
I think that is too time consuming and boring

If you wanted to talk to the dead I don't think the term 'necromancy' is the right one for it.
I've never been able to use a tarot deck to talk to someone who's passed on, but I have to say that I haven't really tried outside of maybe once for that. Have you found a connection at your end? Or were you only thinking it might be possible?
(Oops, hey! I already posted higher up...forgot I did that!).

If you wish to speak to the souls that have departed.....I am going to give you the Third Semiphoras to doing so......This ......will enable you to obtain satisfactory information from the dead
"Adonay Sabaoth, cadas adonay amara"
I use this incantation to communicate with them. Say the words while shuffling your deck. You will be amazed..................

I reccomend not saying anything in another language that you are unfamilliar with. You don't know what will happen. Even the slightest mispronunciation can be potentially harmful.

Meatbox: What is the Third Semiphoras, & what do the words of the incantation mean?
Phoenix: I agree. That is like running before learning to walk.

Semiphoras (God).........The name of GOD
The Creator has seventy-two names that one must use to obtain all that one desires..........
The names have been taken from the scriptures of the art of Calculatriam,.......Cabalisticam...and Geometrium.
By the power of the Semiphoras.........one can create and destroy all the one desires.........
